Quick question about Geneon titles...

I was over at Best Buy today, and I saw something that I found a bit surprising: Geneon titles. Shortly after Geneon folded, the selection of their titles to be found at my local sources began dwindling, and recently, I noticed that they were completely gone...until today. I really should have made a list, but there were a good dozen Geneon titles to be found on the shelves there, most notably Fate/Stay Night, Black Lagoon 1&2, and Hellsing Ultimate IV...

Did I miss something? Where are these coming from? Is this part of the Funi deal?

Yes, FUNi has now picked up all the wonderful Geneon titles we missed. I was finally able to finish my Kyou Kara Maou! collection. :'D

I'm a little scared. FUNi just seems too awesome to be real at the moment. I bet they're going to tank sooner or later. But hopefully the pessimist in me is wrong.

Yeah, now that FUNi is distributing Geneon's titles, a lot of them can be found in stores again. My particular store (fye) received about 400 Geneon dvd's last week. That's 400 UNIQUE dvd's, there were no duplicates at all. A lot of box sets and "box w/volume 1" titles was among that. And this is just _my_ store; there's like 900 stores in the company, and my store has one of the smaller anime sections (unfortunately). So if WE got 400 Geneon's, I wonder what our bigger stores received (time to do some store to store transfers!).

If anyone has been looking for Geneon titles, now's the time to get them (I even saw dvd's come in that I haven't seen in years PRIOR to Geneon's absence (ie Green Legend Ran).

Well... the 400ish dvd's are still in the shipment boxes. There's not enough room to all of a sudden put Geneon's catalog back on the shelves (I don't know if I blame FUNI for that or my distribution center). But the GLR is in one of those boxes (where it'll stay until I buy it, mwhahaha). If you don't see a great deal of Geneon in stock at an fye, chances are theirs are still boxed up too .
