Schoolboy found hanged after his father confiscated his new Wii

A boy of 13 hanged himself with his school tie after his father confiscated a computer game.

Did they look into other aspects of his life? Was he bullied? I'm unwilling to believe a 13 year old would actually hang himself over being unable to play a computer game on a Wii. Har har. But seriously, he must have already been really depressed or something, and his tantrum just gave him a little nudge. That would make a little more sense to me. Well, not really. Suicide doesn't make sense to me period.

Surprisingly alot of people do...

that said I don't but after reading the whole story it does "Seem" like it was just a normal family and the kid was just throwing a temper tantrum, it doesn't "Seem" like he was dealing with any type of depression, they even mentioned he was "Popular" in his school.

Seems like he was trying to "Scare" his parents and screwed up royally.

you know like when kids run away when they are little to teach their parents... I did that once for a few hours... the point is I think he was trying to teach his parents a lesson and he screwed up.

the biggest problem I have with it is he seemed like a good kid, he bought his own Wii with saved up birthday money.

It said he had sensitivity issues. I used to have those. It borders on depression.

The parents were right to tell the kid that the sister was using the TV, and that he had to wait his turn. The kid did something stupid, and as a result, he's dead.

Can't blame it on games, tv, the sister, the parents, the school, or anyone else. The kid went emo and fatally screwed up. Only emosity is to blame here.

Well obviously its the kids fault alone, but people are saying he was depressed or their were family problems or other issues I don't agree with that, I think the kid was just trying to do what you said (and what I said earlier) "I bet it would show them if I hung myself" and didn't realize he would actually die doing so.

I'd bet his sister will be F'ed up for the rest of her life though.

I don't know what everyone's so up in arms about. He wanted to use his Wii and his oppressive family wouldn't let him. Seems like a reasonable reaction to me. Little boy, you are a martyr.
