Is Code Geass being released region-free?

Just wanna know if this is a mistake or not.....
Over on the site that's the name of a river, the product detail for Code Geass Vol. 2 and Part 1 both say "all regions." Um... Is this a mistake or is Bandai actually planning on releasing this region-free? (FYI, Vol. 1 doesn't have any region information.)

The information is inaccurate as amazon uses that as a placeholder until more detailed info is solicited to retailers two months before release. Are you sure you weren't looking at the Marketplace and were looking at the actual site itself?

We have a severe psychological problem in this country. We want houses we can't afford, money we haven't earned, and grades we don't deserve.

Well, you CAN get a Region-Free Bootleg, that is if you want to kill off Bandai like what bootlegging did to Geneon!

It's more like licensing too many niche shows and not releasing enough cheap boxsets led Geneon to their death.

I'd say there were many factors that lead to Geneon's death. I don't think you can really pinpoint one or two specific reasons as to why Geneon died.

Well while bootlegging does hurt the industry to an extent, I doubt it was the complete downfall of Geneon. I mean it's not like the other companies were hurting really bad when Geneon died and bootlegging has been a problem for years, even before the American anime industry started taking a dive. While on the other hand, it was obvious that about 2/3 or more of what Geneon had were mainly niche shows that wouldn't sell well. Combine that with the fact that they were dubbing everything they could and the fact that their boxsets were much more expensive than lets say ADV's thinpaks, then they just set themselves up to lose a lot of money. It's not like its new news that most fans like myself rather just wait for a cheap inexpensive boxset 9/10 times, rather than just spending about 2-3 times as much buying the single DVDs.

^I agree with that. I think another factor to consider is the ridiculously high licensing fees at the time. The lowering of licensing fees may be the only good thing that came out of Geneon's downfall. Another factor may have been D-Rights giving up their investment in Geneon. It wasn't long after Geneon was wholly owned by Dentsu that they decided to close up shop.

Yeah, I was looking at the main product page, not Marketplace. But okay, I guess the info on there's just incorrect then. Thanks!

....Wow, this post turned into a "why Geneon went out of business" thread within 2 replies, LOL.

R1 releases have never (maybe an execption of a handful of discs out of 1000's) had a legitimate commercial release be region free in the US.

Which is why I wanted to make sure.
