Final Villain?
Who do you think the "Last boss" of one piece is going to be?
The way things are going now, it could well be Blackbeard (Which I hope is not the case, because I don 't really like him), but I also have suspicions of it being Whitebeard or Shanks. I can imagine something like: Luffy and Shanks meet, Shanks starts atacking Luffy, at first Luffy doesn't know why but after 50 chapters he wins, and it is revealed that Shanks was just doing it to test him. He'd probably say something like: "You were right, you have surpassed me" Or there could be a completely new villain on par with the gold roger (Aizen style!) out to get One piece, and they have a final showdown in front Of the treasure... What do you think? Last edited by taily; May 27th, 2008 at 12:32 AM. |

I would be really disappointed if either Blackbeard or Whitebeard ended up being Luffy's last adversary. I'm hoping for an unknown villain to come out of nowhere and threaten the very existence of pirates as we (or they) know it leading Luffy to stand up for everyone else who is not able to stand up for themselves against the crazy new guy.
So Luffy standing up for pirates everywhere to protect the legacy of piracy is what I hope to see as a fitting climax... Only after Luffy has beaten Ao Kiji, Shanks and Whitebeard.

I hope none of the above, it would be great if it is someone from the marines or something since I like the CP9 arc too much.

It could be anyone. Let's not forget Monkey D. Dragon. Isn't he the most wanted pirate? I think maybe Shanks. Luffy has a lot of people to beat now would they add another villain?

But I'm also thinking; isn't Oda running out of villians for Luffy? I mean, he's already on par with the 7 gods (Not the correct term I know, but it's easier to type), and maybe excluding Whitebeard and Shanks, they might as well include him in the 4 powers, he's that strong. We still have to find out Shanks and Whitebeards bounties, might give us an idea of how far ahead they are.

Well we know for one that Shanks must be pretty damn powerful. When they show him meeting Whitebeard, I believe a bunch of just regular guys in Whitebeard's crew actually pass out from the pressure that Shanks was putting out. Whitebeard is probably on par with Shanks.

Or Dragonball. Since the whole thing with feeling the person's ki and the amount of power they're putting out from their body. It's actually a fact that Oda loved Dragonball when he was growing up and looked up to Akira Toriyama.

Kishi was also inspired by Dragonball, you can see a lot of references to DB in both One Piece and Naruto. You know what they say: Greatness is inspired by greatness

^ DB was the first shonen to really make a breakthrough and I believe still holds the record for most bought manga in Japan (could be wrong so I don't want nobody unecessarily researching this and showing me figures I don't care too much about).
So... Greatness. Sets a blueprint for everyone else to try and follow and add their own tweaks and let's face it, most shonen follow Akira Toriyama's blueprint. Yeah you're right. But I'm still contemplating what looks best for me. I've had a certain idea for a while now so I might get round to it eventually .

Did you just say Dragonball sucks? Your opinion whether you want to like it or not, but it is very popular and set a standard for a lot of other shounen series after it.
