My Pick: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and/or Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Almost every episode Parodies a different aspect of Japan and/or anime.

Based on all the shows that have been recommended in this thread that I have seen, I'd have to say Hayate no Gotoku definitely has the largest amount of parodying and some of the most obvious and funny. It certainly took it a step further than Pani Poni Dash in my opinion. I think Hayate no Gotoku should be at the top of your list when it comes to wanting to watch a good comedy/parody anime. With 52 episodes and a second season in the works, you can't go wrong if you're looking for plenty of parody. Nagi would have to be my favorite Rie Kugimiya character without a doubt so far (eat your heart out Louise fans) and you can't go wrong with Norio Wakamoto as the narrator for the show.

Abenobashi definitely. It makes fun of RPGs, Evangelion, Dating Sims, mystery novels, and everything else pretty much.

Think I'll just add that the 2nd OP song to Hayate no Gotoku rocks my socks off, well not so much... but it's still a very good song and I enjoy it. A pity the actual opening video isn't uploaded anywhere on YouTube. |
