Looking for 'PC' game recommendations... Some minor requirements.

I need a game that is... hilarious. Or has choices that leads to hilarity. Whether it's trying to be hilarious or not is irrelevent. Playability only needs to be mediocre.

And it needs to be playable on PC... by some means.

And preferably something that doesn't require intense controlling for success. That is to say, something that is not very, very hard.

It can be Japanese, if it can be easily obtained in the US, whether offline or on.

Thanks guys!

Take a look through this thread:
http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=208528

You definitely need to look through some of the old point-and-click adventures like Monkey Island, and some of the sim-management games like Theme Hospital.

I'd also like to add "StarTopia", because of the sarcastic narrator, and because it's a great game. Copies of it are super-cheap on ebay, as well (at least, they are in the UK, under the "Sold Out" label).

Anachronox, its very hilarious. One of my favorite PC games, very underrated RPG.

This is what it says on the box:
"Minimum system requirements include a Pentium II 266, 64 MB of RAM, and a sense of humor"

Psychonauts and most any Lucasarts games from the 90s that aren't Star Wars.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

But man I can't find a lot of those old games anywhere. I guess I'll try shuffling through some download sources.

You might find some of them cheap 2nd hand on ebay.

If you want to play the point-and-click adventures, check out SCUMM to run them on whatever platform you like. A few games like "Beneath A Steel Sky" have been released as freeware.

The Sam And Max games have been collected, compiled and rereleased recently, and new episodes added - there's a free episode released by the makers.

If you want to play any old 1980s Infocom plain-text-based adventures, you can play a lot of them online by visiting this site. A few of them are pretty funny. I found a CD-Rom of some of the games in a specifically-named comedy collection released by Activision on ebay, released about a decade ago.

Other than that, I guess you need to go to google and search for the games, combined with the word "abandonware" and "download"....

Oh and I just googled and discovered that apparently Psychonauts has been released as a free download on "Gametap" until Dec 2008. But I don't know what Gametap is.

"Armed and Dangerous" is a LucasArts game from a few years ago that should meet your needs. It's got plenty of humor, and pretty simple gameplay. I haven't looked for it in stores, so I don't know how easy it will be to find, though. Hope this helps....
