Anime Zealots

Ok i have problem. More accurately a problem with people who think they are "the *****". Now these are people who get VERY possesive over their anime, they think they are above everyone who watches anime - thats right I'm talking about the anime zealots.

Now, let me just illistrate the attitude that I'm talking about here:
"Yeah that anime sucks. Also, the story sucks the writer sucks and their whole genre sucks, more over you suck for watching it"

But what if theres an anime that they love, that it just grabs their attention too much not to love it, then you get this sort of arguement:
"Yeah I've liked it for years. I've liked it since the first episode came out and before you'd even heard of it. Infact, I'm starting not to like so much anymore since, you know, I've liked it for so long and its becoming so popular. And you still suck"

And for some reason these people get really upset when an anime they've been following since the first episode gets licensed, which apparently signallises the downfall of this anime as it becomes more mainstream. Oh damn! Now the anime you've been following has become popular enough to be noticed and loved by other people. See this is what I don't get, to them, an anime getting popular and mainstream is a BAD thing - when people in the same school/college starts talking about the anime, it somehow ruins it for them.

And then we get to the anti-dubs, who are people who refuse to watch dubs - its almost sacreligous to metioned that you've watched a dubbed episode around them. Now I don't want to start a dubs vs subs thread here, but come on guys, if you don't like dubs fine, DON'T WATCH THEM, but you don't need to tear down other people who to watch it.

What I'm trying to say is at the bottom line is it doesn't matter how long you've been a fan or how you choose to watch it. Just becasue they haven't been a fan of them since the first episode, just because you're 100 episodes infront of them since they watch the dub , just because they haven't seen the 83 other animes that you think are better than the anime they like, it may make you more of a freak than they are, but it doesn't make you any more of a fan to the anime than they are, and it certainly doesn't mean you are superior to them.

Anyone agree?

Just so everyone is on the same page, this is someone's alt and the post is really about me.

I thought I'd provide some entertainment before this thread goes up in flames like the last two.

The answer you seek is in the white text so make sure not to miss it.

Just to be on the safe side, unless I'm talking about Da Capo, there's a 99% chance I'm being sarcastic.

That makes 151 times now. Don't mind that comment, I'm just talking to myself.

Edit 13 hours later- Wow, it didn't explode. I guess everyone said what they wanted to in one, or maybe even both, of the last two threads.

Just ignore them, who cares about their opinion. What matters is that you enjoy what you watch.

I remember the last threads with subjects like this ended up in flaming, trolling, and eventually lockdown.

I think "anime fanboy" or uber-otaku would be a more fitting title.

Everyone wishes to feel smarter than you aout something. Human nature. Though, I* must admit, I have been guilty of acting like that a time or two. That is, until I caught myself doing it.

But just like the Op's advice to dub-haters, just ignore them.

Love, Peace and Yuri!

Just ignore them, or tell them they are being rude and their attitude drives fans away from anime. Of course you could always just Boot them in the head.
