GI Joe was supposed to be American. Now yet another piece of my childhood is in danger of being destroyed by hollywood.

Lets see....Underdog.....Alvin and the Chipmunks...... now this? Man, no respect for classic things, you know? I am awaiting Secret Squirrel to have a movie where his coat is full of machine guns.... or Yogi Bear to come in dropping f-bombs. I tell you, these last few years have been hell when it comes to the clasic shows and remakes.

Yes because what you guys need right now is another 'AMERICA IS AWESOME!!!!' movie. If they want to make a GI Joe movie they just CANNOT represent it as a force simply comprised of American that go around the world stopping the bad guys.
In this day and age such an effort to contain an INTERNATIONAL organization such as Cobra would have to be INTERNATIONAL. You guys are so overreacting -- in the grand scheme of thing it's a minor detail. Pls they could simply state that GI Joe started as an American only organization but then they integrated other similar organization from around the globe into one international group and they just kept the name. Beside GI Joe was US only... only in the US. In dubs and other versions it was an international outfit.
