San Diego on fire

well my worst case scenario has finally happened. many of you probably know about the major fires raging in southern California. we just relocated from my house in Spring Valley to my brother's elsewhere in SD and we could see the fire spreading halfway down Mt. Miguel, which is about a little over 5 miles away i estimate (don't know exact distance) about an hour ago when we left.

sadly i had to leave my vast anime and game collection behind, along with everything else and the chinchillas . it was hard ordeal the last time some years ago though the fire wasn't close but it looks like the end is near. man this sucks . don't think i'll resume my anime hobby if it ends up that way.

Can't you claim insurance for your collection?

Glad you're safe, hope everyone you know is safe too.

I don't know... I guess I must not like people much; the idea of an extensive anime and game collection going up in smoke... I feel that pain far more than I have any other report on this disaster...

I hope that... whatever the minimum possible disasterous outcome of this could be for you... that's how it turns out.

I'm so sorry, that's a terrible thing to happen to anyone. I hope that everyone you know is alright. I hope your collection is intact when you get back home. There's always a chance, right?

Don't give up on a hobby that makes you happy because of something like this. You may have lost your collection, but you can still watch some anime. It's a terrible shame to lose everything, but don't make it worse by depriving yourself of that which makes you happy.

Although the collection is important (and I think I can sympathize) it is good that you were able to get away safely.

We will all hope for the best.

Glad you are all right, and I'm very sorry to hear about your chinchillas, anime and game collection.

Insurance companies tend not to cover things that can actually happen to you.
Like Hurricanes in Flordia, fires in California, etc etc.
I kow here, most companies canceled all flood policys, at least for a while.

Fixed, because, well, that would defeat the profitability of insurance (as the cost to cover something likely to happen to you would be too high for people to afford).

Yeah I saw the news report as I was heading to class this morning, but didn't know exactly what was going on (since I couldn't hear the tv). All I saw was a whole lot of orange and smoke on the screen.

My anime is on my computer, along with much of what I consider important (namely my writings and graphic productions.) If the poo hits the fan I can just pack up the comp and go.

Sucks to hear about the fires though, mang. I hope your riskily-placed house, and by association your collections, come through is their previous chemical states.

Not to sound like a b*tch, but you can always replace your collection.

However, you can't replace , family nor chinchillas.

Stay safe!

thats horrible. id freak if all of my videogames and anime were gone. and a couple other possesions that i will never let go of. my SNES videogames are like gold to me.

and i like chinchillas. thats also horrible.....

id do what MaliceDR does. but here's my advice to all of you out there: if you have a big collection, upload all of the info from your dvds onto your computer into files that can be instantly burn onto a blank dvd. now only if i figure out how to do it on my comp.

Chinchillas are so cute.
ALthough I prefer bunnies. TOo bad my apartment managers are idiots, and let my neighbors have cats, and small dogs, but I cant have a damn rabbit.

I dont know what I would do if I lost all my stuff....ALthough I do have renters insurance which could pay off SOME of it.
Which reminds me, i gotta inventory my things
