Icon10 Imus To Go Back on air

I just read about it.

I thought that he was out of a job permanently because of his comments.

Yeah, I read about this a while back. I'm happy for him. Hopefully people won't be so stupid this time around...this has happened before, so I won't bank on that..

He deserves to be back on. I'm kind of hoping Al Sharpton goes after the studio that hired him, just because that will be one more opportunity for him to slip up, reveal himself as the bigot he is, and lose his following. At least we know Imus's new bosses aren't as hypocritically sissy-like as his old ones.

It was news to me today. It was settled a couple of months ago but the article I read today listed a date in Dec when he was to formally return.

I wonder if he really has learned his lesson. There are too many people with his attitude nowadays.

Yeah, it must've not said a date back then because it's somehow big news...

There really was no lesson to be learned on his part. He's a shock jock, he's paid to make risky comments in the name of comedy. People that dissagree with him don't need to listen or watch his show, but they shouldn't piss and moan about how he is a racist when he isn't.

I don't intend to insult you here, but I really hope this is a joke, or that I'm misinterpreting. Learned his lesson? Really? Let's see:

1. He was hired as a shock jock (granted, he had gotten tamer recently, but still)

2. He was doing his job as usual and made a racist comment which nobody would have cared about had it been any other race

3. He apologized for it appropriately, without acting like a pity case

4. He was "forgiven" by Sharpton (BS)

5. And finally, he got fired for doing his job and exerting freedom of speech just because the "prosecution" was led by Sharpton, who has the uncanny ability to rally the most ignorant flamebaiters known to man (note: no offense here, what I'm trying to say is that only the most oblivious people alive actually follow him) for any freaking cause he damn well wants to rally against.

How's that for justice?

And before you say something like "his apology won't heal the pain he caused to those young women," bullcrap. If it wasn't on the news, they would never have even known about it. And now one of the girls is sueing him for personal damage? Holy cow, she's more wretched than any comment Imus could possibly make. And look at all the good he's done, especially with that ranch for kids with cancer. Are you telling me that he deserved to be out of a job, stopping the flow of cash to poor and sick people which he so generously donated, just because of a little unwarranted insult?

/Sorry about the rant, but this is easily the topic I feel strongest about in the past year or so. It was a violation of our freedom of speech, and it proved that the mentality of the racial mob always gets what it wants.

You said practically everything I feel on the subject, and I completely agree with the part I quoted. Bravo.
