Eureka 7

Just watched 3 eps of this series, got a few questions. What exactly did Renton's father do? Did he invent the LFO's? And is Moonlight State a terrorist group, why are the government military after them? Thanks.

He didn't invent them, but he was doing research on them.

You mean Gekko State? You could say that. They are definetly an anti-government group.

Saying much more than that at the point you are in the anime would involve some significant spoilers, so I hope that answers you questions.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was 月光 which roughly translates to moonlight.

One more question (if it will spoil too much of the story then please don't answeer it), did Renton's father used the LFO's to destroy the transbalance light particle? How created these particles, was their original purpose to disrupt the compact engine drives? I'm afraid to read the Wikipedia entry for this cause I'm afraid I'll read too much spoiler. Thanks.

I'm going to hold back on answering that, because I think it would involve some significant spoilers. Don't worry too much if you don't understand everything that is going on at first. There are a lot of questions that get raised early on in the anime, that do not get answered for quite some time and many of them are significant plot points. This really bugs some people, although I find it part of the appeal of the series.

Definetly stay away from the Wikipedia entry until you finish the series! It's full of spoilers.

I enjoy this show, even though this forum seems to hate it for the most part, keep watching.

Interesting, the differences between direct translations of the original Japanese, and the words they went with in the dub...

Yes - as they said, 3 eps in is waaaaay too early to expect any answers in this series...

Heck, you won't get most of your questions answered until the last 3 eps here...

It does, but people(and the Bandai translators) just leave it as Gekko. Only exception is the US manga which does translate it literally and call it Moonlight

Agreed!!! Just wait and keep watching! Initially I didn't like the series because it was so vague in the beginning, but I kept watching and it just gets better and better imo!

It just feels weird calling it Gekko State because it's like mixing Japanese and English in the name. But I saw it in ep.4, they are just spelling it out as Gekko Station on their ship, so I guess I'll go with Gekko instead of Moonlight.
