Predictions Fall 2007-08

This is my last thread, Ever!

I know this opine probably might get me banned or flamed for life, but I don’t care anymore.
Over the past five years, I have enjoyed reading and contributing to the forums on this site. But recently I have seen discouraging waves of change that seem disheartening. The number of series-specific forums have dwindled and a lot of the posters (not John BTW, who is a objective genius when it comes to all things anime and for that matter Japanese pop culture) nowadays have aquired a “Frenchman’s attitude, using their knowledge and hidden enmity to self-assumingly strike down other anime fans.
Passion is one thing but enmity is another. Truly as I’ve said to my friends (and those I know who including some I work with who like anime and manga) there is nothing like a bunch of self-assuming, self righteous snobs to make anime a job instead of entertainment. What used to be fun and entertainment all of a sudden has become an overly serious shouting match/popularity contest. I find this disturbing going into the future and it kinda validates (somewhat) the enmity that the anti-anime crowd has for the community. Let’s get rid of all the fanservice and the hentai and the idol singers and the magical girls and boys and bishoujo and bishounen and the chojin and the RIFs and Narutards and Bleach Boosters (and some of these components are not exactly my faves) and have everything be like Miziyaki and the Girl Who Leapt through time. Nice (for the snobs) but it would be a boring boring world.

John:
I wish you and all of the staff at AN and AN Forums the best going forward into the future.

Anywho, In honor of the coming fall TV season and the rest of the year's upcoming new anime and manga releases, anyone have any predictions ?

Haruhi season 2 is the only series that people will be crazy about. Everything else will be mediocre ****, maybe 2-3 A titles, but that's it. Oh and Gundam 00, hopefully it will be good.

As long as Hunter x Hunter starts up again, ill be happy.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling Bleach will end next year, both the manga and the anime.

Not again. I'll never understand the logic behind such a statement.

Did it officially swap with Clannad? I thought Clannad was still in the fall spot.

I didn't need the link, because my psychic powers told me you would provide it for me.

Yeah. I just pooped on you.

Out of the 2007 fall season, I am looking forward to Mokke and Shugo Chara the most.

I have read the first 3 volumes of Mokke and I really find it enjoyable. One of the Hibara sisters, Mizuki (the younger one) has the worst luck when it comes to youkai. Her expressions are priceless and if Madhouse Studios can capture it right, she should steal the spotlight. I'm also interested to find out how they will animate certain youkai scenes since Mizuki cannot see them; her sister, Shizuru can.

I have only read the first volume of Shugo Chara, but I really love it so far. I am quite excited to see what Satelight and its staff will do with Shugo Chara. The manga feels Clamp-ish, and the anime should, too.

Other titles I am looking forward to:

I simply want to check out Moyasimon because it will air on Noitamina and the premise sounds unique. I checked out Moyasimon's production company which is called Shirogumi at their site, and it seems like they have done some video game projects such as Tales of Destiny, Dirge of Cerberus, and Soul Calibur III, but not much experience with anime. Still, I am anticipating something totally unique from Moyasimon.

Another supernatural (or as they are promoting it, spiritual animation) of this fall, Masamune Shirow and Production I.G's Ghost Hound. The trailer has been available for a while now, and it can be found here. Other Production I.G title I would like to check out is "Tokyo Marble Chocolate", altough, it's not a TV series.

Last but probably not least, Genshiken II. What I am wondering is what chapter the anime will pick up from. Either way, the second series should focus more on Ogiue and her true intentions. I can't wait.

Other titles I am curious enough to check out:

Sketchbook ~Full Color's~, which is based on a seinen 4-koma. The trailer is also available at their site.

Shion no Ou, which I don't know much about except it is about this girl who seeks some information about her parents' death by competing in a Japanese chess-like game called shougi. This girl supposedly lost her voice, so, it will be interesting to see a muted character. ^^;

KimiKiss Pure Rouge just because I like J.C.Staff and the seiyuu list is attractive. ^^; One of the characters seen at their official site remind me of Otoha (Sky Girls), just appearance wise. I'm disappointed to see Ayako Kawasumi missing from the roster. ;;

There are many more winter anime I am interested in that I haven't mentioned. I am excited!

I have not heard a lot about the coming fall season, but based on what I have seen:

Shakugan no Shana II - I enjoyed the first season, so I will probably check out the second.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Second Season - Eh, the first season started out good, but I started to lose interest during the second half, and that looooong wait for the last two episodes was the final nail in the coffin for me. Not going to bother.

Kodomo no Jikan - I'm curious just to see what they do with this. I checked out the manga a bit just to see what all the uproar was about. The story itself actually looked pretty good but I found the lolicon/ecchi too OTT for my tastes. I imagine they will be toning it down in the anime, so perhaps that will allow the anime to focus more on the story and characters.

D.C. II (Da Capo II) - I have to see if this is sequel is more like D.C (good) or D.C.S.S (bad). I've got my fingers crossed!

I don't know enough about any of the other series that were announced to have an opinion one way or the other for now.

EDIT: As I was looking through some websites for info on the Fall season, I found at least one more interesting tidbits with no specific start date:

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru - Second Season - I really liked the first season of this, so I'll be checking out the sequel if it really happens. I'm kind of curious how they handle this, as the end titles of the final episode of season 1 suggested that the main characters had graduated which would make a continuation of their story kind of problematic.

Clannad will be out on October 14th. The date was released. I heard Haruhi won't be here until next year unless things have changed.

*sound of tires screeching*

Who, what, when, where, and...something. Link?

Edit- Also, don't worry about them having already graduated.
