Control problem for isometric game
I'm playing an old isometric game through an emulator, but I have a problem with the controls for movement, as it's isometric you move along a
X axis, or diagonally. If I'm facing upper-right and want to turn to upper-left I have to press both the left and up keys. When I'm then facing upper-left you move forwards or to the top left of the screen using either the top or left keys, and to move downwards or to the bottom right of the screen you can either press down or right. There's an option for either 3key or a 6key setup, I tried both but it made no difference. I tried mapping the direction keys to different parts of the keyboard but no luck, I still have to press two keys in unison to change from one diagonal direction to another. Hope that's clear, it's hard to describe as it's a spatial thing. Is there any way to get around this or will I simply have to get used to this control setup? |
