Mulan is my all time favorite Disney Heroine just for the reasons that Tenou described. Otherwise, most Disney heroines are airheaded.

Watched The Illiusionist recently and was blown away at how good it was and the ending. DIDN'T EXPECT THAT.

Mulan was ****ing awesome up until the point where she fell in love with what's-his-face. Shang Li? Or something? And Belle was awesome when she pwnd Gaston.

Bell was a hero by default. Her father was a fool who let her do what ever she wanted. Mulan actively defied her father, put her life in danger not only to save her father but her fellow soldiers and her country. That's achieving greatness... or having greatness thrust upon her. Either or.
Bell, mostly she just fell into the hero thing, wanting to save her father. The only thing that can be said of her is that she is intelligent and not shallow.

And, on account of the whimsy (because I'm wearing the whimsy necklace)
Mulan>Bell

And, because I love Shakespeare, guess what's coming out on DVD (finally) about mid August. Hamlet, the good one (ie, Kenneth Branagh's rendition of Hamlet)

God Disney movies... always busting out in song and dance at all the wrong moments...

"Oh I feel depressed, but song and dance will make me feel better!"

Edit: I recent saw Knocked Up w/KyouryokuSenshi which was friggen HILARIOUS. I also saw Transformers with her brother and that was totally awesome.

The only thing wrong with that version is it is a hybrid of the RSA and Hollywood Squares.

Girl with the Pearl Earrings was the last movie I watched.

Ooh, I love that movie. I'm getting it for my B-day, along with:

Children of the Corn
Amadeus
Wayne's World
Edward Scissorhands

Meet John Doe. I was in a Turner Classic mood having gone for so long without cable.
It was quite enthralling. I love movies where the protaganist has to make a decsion that I can't really foresee a more favorable possible outcome of, on either side of the equation. Fun.

I was doing the flipping back and forth thing with Spanglish and Sixth Sense.

I hadn't seen Spanglish before. I found it interesting.

The Good Shepherd

Matt Damon was really good in this movie. It was wise to use him for the entire movie even though lots of scenes took place in the past and he looked a bit older then the character was supposed to be. At the same time it wouldn't have been as good if someone else was used for half the movie.

I thinking about watching Rush Hour 1 and 2 again in preparation of the 3rd installment coming out in August.
