360 racing games??
i'm not sure what to get. i want a racing game, but nothing seems to be up my alley.
take Forza2 for example. it's a great driving sim, but it doesn't really have any sense of speed and is a little to realistic for my taste. then theres a game like Burnout:Revenge. this game is just a little to wacky/unrealistic for me. taking cars out with your turbo boost and not taking ANY damage at all your self, feeling like you are going faster than a bullet when using turbo, things like that. isn't there any game for 360 that's kinda in the middle of the 2 above?? or maby it's not out now, but will be soon. kinda like NFS:prostreet. i hear that this new NFS game will still have an arcade feel, but will be a little more realistic than it's predisessors. btw (so you know what i like) one of my all time favorite racing games was Pod-Racer for N64. i know it's not very realistic, but it was realistic for being in the vehicle and setting/world track it put you in, and it just felt right.

Burnout Revenge is actually pretty good. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but your car's paint does get scratched up, and you take much more blatant damage in the road race events. However, the physics can be wonky, and there are a couple small glitches (though not nearly as bad as the ps2 version).
You may want to give NFS: Most Wanted a go, if you haven't already. That's one of my more favorite racing games in recent years. I haven't played carbon, but I keep hearing that Most Wanted is better. You may also want to give Project Gotham 3 a go. It's not nearly as realistic as Forza, and only half as "arcadey" as NFS.

^Carbon was terrible in comparison to Most Wanted. Most Wanted was my favorite because they brought the cops back, and in Carbon it just wasn't as fun.
I need to pick that up too, it's only $20 or $30 now. Last edited by Jon; June 26th, 2007 at 12:31 PM. |

NFS: Most Wanted and Burnout Revenge are both great arcade racers.
NFS: Most Wanted has a pretty nifty blur effect on the 360 that gives it a good sense of speed. I also like being able to drive around the city, rather than trapped in a linear track. Burnout Revenge is great for the crash missions, take down missions, and overall just plain fun race maps.

NFS: Most Wanted is great, I love it. Burnout: Revenge is just plain fun. Tried the demo for dirt, and it was fun, but I sucked at it, I kept driving off cliffs and stuff. There is Project Gotham Racing, which is shiney and pretty but very slow

I don't see either of those on the list. The original Forza is on there, though I know you're more interested in the arcade racers. Burnout 3 is backward compatible; you may be interested in that if you don't have it on ps2 already. Actually, which would be better? Burnout 3 on an actual PS2, or Burnout 3 on the software-emulated 360?
