Was eye sheild brought to help with nfl image?

Ive been thinking about it for a while and since the nfl has been having a bad wrap lately espeically with the pac man jones crap that has been going on has eye shield 21 been brought to america to help with the nfl image? After watching some of eye shield it has alot of moral values like team work and some other crap...and the way the nfl is today it isnt such a good roll model for teens. i mean it seems natural that the show would apear on jet stream vbut i didnt think we would see it apear on an nfl sponcered show...

Since the NFL seems to be promoting Eyeshield 21 to youngsters through its NFL Rush site, I'm guessing that the domestic release has more to do with trying to attract children to football than an attempt to brighten the image of the NFL. After all, many children may not be aware of, or care, about controversies in the NFL. And adults who are aware of legal or financial controversies probably won't be interested in a Japanese cartoon about football.

So I don't think the Eyeshield 21 anime is being specifically used to distract attention from negatives in the NFL. It would seem much more practical and efficient as a tool to attract more young people to the sport.
