I know it seems like almost nothing got accomplished this episode. I love flashbacks as much as the next guy, but when they begin having them every episode and it becomes apparent they are only putting them in there to waste time it really gets on your nerves >.<

Anyone know how many manga chapters this episode covered?

Lets see:
Sakura is no longer useless
See her medical techniques
See how much she has grown

I would say more has been accomplished then a lot of other episodes.

Yeah that's cool getting to see how much Sakura has improved, but they dragged it out really bad, and there was a lot of sitting around between the epic healing scenes.

You may want to see her stand around turning Naruto into an episode of ER but personally I'd rather have them speed up to when Sakura actually fights Sasori and really see her in some real action!

Why? I am in no rush to see another filler arc. The way the manga and anime comparison works is its 2 chapters per episode, such is life, occasionally they have to make things longer then you might like.

I like it when people complain about pacing, fillers, and flash backs, some people are just never satisfied (not saying you possess all those traits, but some do).

Didn't maind the episode, taking ages to clean out the poison was good as it showed just how nasty Sasori's poison is and how good he is.

People who don't read the manga are thinking "Wow! Everyone who goes up against these guys end up getting owned!! First Gaara...now Kankuro..."

It covered at least one chapter, maybe two. Buf it this is what it takes to keep Naruto from delving into filler-land again, then only covering two manga chapters per episode is perfectly fine by me. (My main reason for watching the anime is to see the manga animated.) Besides, as Dark Seraph said, the fact that the animators spent so much time on Sakura's drawing out the poison emphasized just how strong Sasori's poison is.

Perhaps, but one can't deny that such a point becomes moot when one drags things out too much. Not to mention I'd say the episode-to-chapter ratio is probably a lot smaller than 1 ep. per 2 chapters.

Now for another exciting hour long special! Naruto-time!
Baki: Send Takamaru, we need help from Konoha!
Iruka: Boy Naruto, you've sure grown.
*bird flies some more*
Iruka: Grown quite a bit Naruto.
*bird flies some more*
Kankuro: *grits teeth in frusturation* Gaara...
Baki: Wait Kankuro! You're going on a suicide mission alone!
Kankuro: You can't stop me!
*bird flies some more*
Iruka: You were little, now you're big, it's like you've grown.
Baki: It's suicide I tell you!
Kankuro: But I can't just sit around and wait!
Baki: At least let me send a squad with you.
Kankuro: And wait for Gaara to die!?
Baki: But it's suicide if you go alone!
Kankuro: I can't sit and debate this! He's my brother!
Baki: I'll send a squad with you.
Kankuro: I'm off!
Baki: Wait!
Kankuro: What?
Baki: It's suicide to go alone!
*bird flies some more*
*8 object crack in various locations*
Iruka: And basically, what I'm trying to say, is you're in the state the opposite of not growing up.
Naruto: Thanks Iruka-sensei. *winks and adjusts headband*
Narrator: In the next exciting episode of Naruto, Kankuro makes his way toward Gaara, and Naruto tries for a greater mission!

Don't worry, there will be a handful of fights in the next episodes. Just be patient.

Now that Naruto has... changed a bit.... I kind of don't like how... simplistic the art style is... also... the ninjaey feeling is starting to feel less strict... like... being a ninja is easy... I don't know. Sasori's poison doesn't seem as deadly... and the way they showed the poison in the body... Man... I don't know... something is off about the show's seriousness to me...

Then you will be pleased to hear the animation team is changing in the coming episodes, the animation will be of higher quality.

The second part of the series is also far more serious then the first part, being a ninja looks easier because they all have been ninjas for a number of years now.

The only problem I have with Shippuuden so far is the lack of the original series' soundtrack... it just never got old. I know Shippuuden has a more serious tone, but even so, the new soundtrack just seems too bland and dry and far less exciting than the original. I guess it might be to early to say that but its been bothering me for a while.

As far as the pacing goes, Naruto has always been this way. At least its not filler.
