L's Real Name (Deathnote Spoilers)

So I just read somewhere that L's real name is L Lawliet. People say his name was released on a special card enclosed in the 13th novel. Is this true, or is it just a rumor?

well first of all i think it goes up to number 12. i thought you find out his name when he tells the police force. is that true?

There's a 13th volume that's basically special commentary, extras, that sorta thing.

And he doesn't tell the police force his real name, he just tells them to call him Ryuzaki so that no one outside would immediately know that he was L.

It's hard to say, but considering the popularity of the manga I'm guessing it probably will.

Strange parents, to have given him a first name with only one letter in it. >__> Then again, since writing Lind L. Tailor worked, I suppose L as an initial + Lawliet would also work.

Ya he told light his name was Hideki Ryuuga just to set him off, if light would of thought of the pop singer Hideki Ryuuga and he would of died, L would of figured out that light was kira.

Its already in the U.S. I own the whole series including the thriteenth one which is called How to Read.

Wasn't Rue Ryuzaki the name B.B. called himself? I was thinking that's where L got his Alias, seeing as it's a prequal to the series.
