This is terrible. WHy can't they leave livea action anime spin-offs to the people that know what they are doing and dont just can about the name of the people starring in it.

I'm guessing ANgolina as Motoko and Brad Pitt as Bato.
THey need to get a japanese actress to play Motoko not some big name actress that has never seen the movie.

I think it best to reserve judgement until we have any details. American, Japanese in the manga she was Japanese in the anime she was Chinese (or at least worked in those countries). I know mechanical body and whatnot. I wonder what Shirow thinks.

I have yet to see a live action spin off worth watching, mayhap Hollywood will do the job right?

Tim Burton should direct. He isn't a fool, and this is up his ally, as most sci-fi directors are just god awful.

I havent heard of Motoko being Chinese in teh anime. I figured she was Japnaese (mainly becuase of her name)
