from left to right small screen of anime, manga version of 'Sakura', live photo test of one of the cast with ink on their backs (alchemy symbols and jp scripts - the big bird looks like a turkey in this small version it worked out too cluttered so i got rid of the bird and some of the latin and replaced with 'branches')

old crap wallpaper

hey & thanks

I had to pull down the actual sakura & tree boy site as it was just too much to keep updating and i was giving out too much info.

So the project site is basic info with basic updates on a variety of projects sorry

The full anime intro and the 1st scene will be available to watch & download near the end of Jan so it would be nice if people check back then and give me some feedback on that

(i'm not shooting a promo until mid filming when i start using HD)

Oh btw the piano loop is the ony thing thats not mine (oh and the utada song on the profile page) i got it off some free loop site- however i think it comes from a Jpop song if anyone knows where its from could you let me know please?

That looks neat, I like the firefly animation in the begning, great job on the cell painting too, sounds like an interesting story too I've been working on an animesque project too comibining HD Live Action and animation too. We're about 40% done with post production, so much animation to do. The site is www.drawnbypain.com

so much animation to do

I know exactly how you feel mine only has roughly 12-15 minutes of animation and theres only me doing it (im doing a bit of a Makoto Shinkai tho im not as good as him) its taking a loooong time.

Since i will still be animating once the live action is finished (shot and edited)
i'll be realeasing a test preview which includes the anime intro and 1st 1/2 of the film so i'de be keen to get people to watch it and let me know if story is clear/looks good what could be improved etc so i'll update you guys when thats ready, however thats not for a while.

okidoke i was going to post seperate but why waste board space ay.

This is some flash art, i started out doing the full pose but got impatient
and just started coloring half of her i know shame on me

but good thing i didn't waste my time as i realised it sucks and lol parts of the way i colored it on most screens will show blatant mistakes like the white patch and the weird highlight on her leg looking more like a paint brush than a patch that was filled with bucket...i used feather on the selection on that patch

so yeah anyways its largely unfinished but i thought i would show it as flash art since apart from a couple of tiny patches and a hue change(for the red ones) done in fireworks everything was drawn and colored in flash with my mouse (not that that makes it any special just i don't have a tablet)

i am going somewhere with the ball thing on her head i just have'nt added the rite stuff yet

thanks suzuki & briocyrin, still far from good tho

okay this here is a look at a creature im using

The introduction part is in 3 sequences as a way of setting up the films ficticious land
1- A typical anime intro
2- A settled bit of non anime animation
3- Japanese puppet narrative

I wanted to have stuff sort of ease into live action and i think visually this will help people get into the story and find the live action more believeable/watchable and add to the 'fantasy' of it? maybe it won't?

ANYWAYS this creature is essentially a jelly fish- alot of those deep sea fish are weird and have weird defenses

SO my J-fish has tentacles and mucus that construct a luminous form around it giving it a false shape (the little bluey blob inside is the actual jelly fish) so it distracts predetors and lures attacks away from the important jelly body

Hum...well, the anime I've seen that has been turned into live action, didn't work very well...Guyver anyone? Even blending has never been the best thing, but if you can find a way to do it that makes sense and is visually appealing, then go for it.

The jelly fish looks great! I can see the movement of it eventhough the picture isn't actually moving. :-)
