Jdorama Extravaganza!

...so, what are you watching/re-watching right now?

Nodame Cantabile and a lil bit of old stuff i.e. Tokyo Love Story.

First I have to say great thread. I've actually been watching more Jdrama's than anime at the moment.

I'm watching a few tittles right know, (More sentai's than conventional dramas) Kamen Rider 555, bishojo senshi sailor moon live action and Stand up!!!. I just finished dling "Nobuta wo Produce" and Orange Days.

I'm also currently re-watching GTO live action. Best. JDrama. Ever.

Kamen Rider 555 is already my second favorite Jdrama next to GTO. I was very surprised and pleased with the series so far, and with 5 episodes and a movie left, The ending is anyone's guess.

...GTO? best drama ever? oh well. to each his own. the manga was good. that's all.

as for jdorama, i just finished Strawberry on the Shortcake and Nobuta wo Produce, super sad and super fun repspectively.

i suddenly have a huge man crush on kimura takuya, after he appeared in GOOD LUCK! and Beautiful Life. i was like, "whoa, i was a chick, i'd totally be crushin on him." yeah. jdoramas make me say that.

Gave up on Nodame. Even the goof in me thinks it's just not entertaining enough. Only drama I'm watching this season is "Dr. Koto". I caught the original series in re-run a couple of years back and was THRILLED when I discovered the second series would be running. Been enjoying it thoroughly, although they need to get back to Ayaka and NOW.

I agree with Jun about Nodame being not entertaining enough for regular viewers. Even as a huge fan of the manga, its somewhat uninteresting and the comedy to be a bit cheesy; Strezmen's accent and his wig, and Masumi-chan, who can be funny at times but still.. Regarless, I would like to continue to watch this series just for its music and Juri Ueno, who I think does a great job as Nodame (Nodame's "Gyabo~!" is just priceless). Nodame Catabile anime is more fit and should be a lot better.

I am currently watching an oldie which was recommended by lots of people: Tokyo Love Story. Im up to episode 9 and I am totally feeling remorse for Rika. This series was totally unpredictable and kept me entertained the whole time.

If anybody can recommend me something from this season or something newer, I would truly appreciate it. Something unpredictable, fresh, tragic, etc. Anything with Kimura Takuya maybe? Thanks.

I've recently started watching Akihabara@DEEP and I'm not quite sure what to think about it. To me, it's entertaining bordering on retarded. A friend burned episodes 1-7 for me and I just finished 4 this afternoon, I'll probably finish up through 7 to see if it gets better.

I'm also considering picking up Aibou Season 5, because it seems a lot like Law and Order, but since I've canceled dedicated Internet service to my desktop, I can only download series when I can leave my laptop at home for a day or two at a time. Once school is finished, I'll probably start it. In January, I'll probably look into what 2007's Taiga Drama is and might download it.

For the moment, it's pretty much limited to Akihabara@DEEP, though...

I third this. I love the manga but when I but I can`t get into the drama. I watch it though but that`s mostly because I like TV noise and I love the music.

I haven`t been watching anything much this season. I`ve been getting into Korean dramas lately like Soulmate and Palace. Hana Yori Dango 2 is supposed to come out in January, so I`ll probably re-watch HYD1 this month.

Mostly watching nodame, started it a bit late and have only seen 2 episodes so far, but its cute I like it ^^

I’d like to see that shoujo teppan akane too but I haven’t seen subs for it yet and I heard it wasn’t as good as I thought ( had a actress I like in it)

Right now I think I’m going to start lunch queen( a older one), and finish stand up when I find more episodes ( I absolutely love stand up >#<;; )
and maybe rewatch nobuta wo produce when I can ( looks at avatar)

Stand Up absolutely shocked me because I really, really liked it. Despite the fact I like cast, it never looked/sounded like a series that I'd like, but was amazed when I did.

I was thrilled this last Saturday because I caught the last two episodes of Nobuta in re-run on TV before I went out. Hadn't seen them since I watched it during the fall season last year (and unabashedly adored it).
