Need help identifying anime show!
Hi there,
I hope someone can finally help me answer this question... A long time ago (probably about 10 years), I watched an anime show, and have since been unable to work out what it was! Yep, I forgot what it was called ![]() Okay, I don't remember much about it. Here are the scraps of info I can give: - I think the title was quite long, and included the name of a city, and a year. e.g. Something like 'Cyber City Tokyo 2099,' just as an example! - I saw every episode, as far as I know. If so, there weren't many. Maybe only 5 or 6? - Also, I think each episode focused on completely different characters and storylines. There may have been some linking characters (e.g. a pair of cops investigating cases...maybe) but each episode felt very self-contained. The storylines I recall: - An episode that started with a criminal, who was fitted with an explosive neck brace. He was very carefully trying to de-fuse it (a task that many had failed at it the past). While he was undertaking this delicate operation, another character entered the room, and started telling him he wouldn't be able to do it - It was impossible. Anyway, the guy *almost* managed to de-fuse the neckbrace, then at the last moment, he screwed it up. BOOM. His head was blown off! - Another episode ended with the discovery of a man who was wired into a machine. He was at the centre of a room that was full of wires - part of a living machine. - Another episode (maybe the last one?) had some kind of weird 'sky elevator' that led up from the earth to... something... a space ship? I think the people in this other place may have been vampires. I live in the UK, but can't remember if this was broadcast on TV (If so, the channel was probably Bravo) or if a friend had it on video. Anyway, it would've been around 1995-6, I guess. This is one of those questions that has been quietly bugging me for ages! If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks -Sam |

Cyber City Oedo 808. It went out of print and was reissued as 3 separate DVDs which also seem to be going out of print, though you can still find the collection with all 3 disks on Yahoo shopping.

I didn't care for the first episode. The second episode was a nice little action show. My favorite was the 3rd "vampire" episode.
