Reality Anime?

Seeing as reality tv is such a big deal these days, what if there was an anime that was supposed to be a reality show? I mean, obviously it wouldn't actually be a reality show, but if it was kinda formed in the same way? I think it would be funny!

Starship Operators is a series dealing with a Starship that has a news crew on board filming their everyday lives and their handling of battle situations. I could only get through the first volume and didn't care for it but I know that others liked it.

Since when did Reality TV focus on daily tasks or happenings?

I personally think that anything delivered in the "Reality TV" format is just irritating.

I hate reality TV (though sometimes I can't help but watch it just to assure myself there is somebody in this world more superficial than myself). Even so, if there was ever an anime reality TV show, it would be better than a live action one. Because my rule is that, all else equal, something animated is more fun to watch than something that is not animated.

Very much like the Running Man. I'm sure thats where they got the inspiration. I'm sure "Ah-nold" movies are big there still.

I stand corrected, then, I suppose.

BTW, Levon, I think that's the dirtiest avatar I've seen you use.

It starts off very wierd, trust me when I say it gets a lot better. In fact the whole 'Reality TV' thing is conveyed in a very Black Humour way. If you have ever seen the film Network, you will know what I mean.

The producer changes the bridge crew so that its full of all the good looking girls , and they have to compromise with him to not have their strategy meetings aired live ...

Later on in the show, the popularity of the 'Starship Channel' has unintended consequences.

But yeah, in the end its the only Reality TV-style show I can think of. Lots of idol-show-anime though.

Shes just piloting using a joystick, I don't know whats going on in your mind

I sometimes make a scene look more perverted than whats really going on.

something like this was already done in america, and it's known as Drawn Together

it's the perfect mix of crude humor, racial/sexual stereotypes, and mindless fun

well it's natural to think of sexual themes from something completely un expected, that's reality tv at it's core
