Patlabor: Worth It???

Well i have some spending money right now and i was wondering if patlabor is worth a full purchase. I was going to by the entire TV series, the original set, the new files set, movie 1, and movie 2. So i was just deciding on whether or not i should purchase all of this and if it is well worth it.

I say pick up the original OAV. If you really like it pick up the 1st movie. If you enjoyed it alot as well go ahead and get it all. The OAV isn't too serious at all, but the movie is very serious. Make sure to pick up the new release of the movie at that.

But I think it's worth a full purchase anyways. The way I look at is, Mamoru Oshii has his hands in it? Pick it up.

Also if you do plan to pick it all up, don't forget about the 3rd movie.

I wouldn't judge based on the OVA alone, I diddn't like the OVA that much but I really like the TV series & movies. TV series was much more enjoyable with more comedy, better stories & a lot more mecha action & the movies were smart & interesting. The OVA I diddn't feel that way, a lot of it felt pretty pointless to me, wasn't all that funny & not much action. So it all was a little dull for me. Great OP though.

Its worth it.
