That's pretty much my thoughts. Then again, it could be a prequel, as was indicated by other folks. I hope it's a dating sim where you play as Jack and Rose.

Kojima always says he's done with MGS after each 1. Then there are rumors of a new one and that Kojima isn't working on it. Then a few months later, low and behold, Kojima says he's working on the project. It always goes like that.

I'd like a reboot of Metal Gear 1 or 2. But for a reboot, I don't know why you would call it Metal Gear Solid 5. I think it will either be about WW2, or we are gonna go even further into the future with a new character.

Well, I don't think Kojima necessarily said Solid 5, just new Metal Gear project? I really hop eit's 1 and 2 remake cause that's a remake that i want.

And if your really want to go back, I guess they can always do Cobra team...

Yeah, lets go back to WWII and watch as more pointless backstory that was'nt needed and makes the story far more convoluted. Here we will learn even more about the Boss and find out that she did'nt even create her own ideology, it was actually General General who created it and now the Boss is far less interesting. And maybe some more mysteries are solved, like where and when Eva got her boob surgery, because everything in MGS needs to be detailed and explained.

No, MGS should stop. The story is over. Take a break and then come back maybe with something that has nothing to do with the current cannon. Maybe do a complete re imagining or maybe have a story set further into the future that maybe makes a few subtle call backs.

I think a "Solid" style remake of the first two MSX Metal Gear games would be a good idea.

No that game is still part of the MGS current cannon and features characters from the story. It's not a reboot or re imagining of MGS, nor is it close to what I also mentioned. When I say story that loosely connects, I don't mean a game that's story largely hinges on what happened in the previous games. How much Rising hinges I don't know, but I mean they even say that the world is the result of the Patriots fall. In my eyes, if they set a game in some undisclosed future, nut maybe has some loose connections that are subtle and more of a wink wink to fans. Like say Persona 3 to Persona 1/2. The Kirijo Group has some connection to early Persona games, yet that is largely unimportant. Yet it does connect them and let you know they take place in the same world.
