Tekkaman Blade Is Awesome

I just finished it today and it's on my favorite list.

I never did check out the americanized version but here are som things that's realy funny.

Levin. A Homosexual man with a mech fetisch, dubbed Maggie in the US version. Sure because you can't have a gay dude getting a boner over a mechs now can you. So you just make him into a girl. I don't know how much of the mech fetish they cut out in the US version.

Aki dubbed Star. Why do the girls in Americanized animer always so lame names. Jun was known as Princess in BOTP. Lame!

Balzac! Now there's a name! Asimov Balzac, they changed Asimov into some french name St. Jacques but kept the Balsac. Asimov Balsac is a cool name but when Noel shouted Baaaalsaaaaaac I could only think of was Baaaaallsaaaaaaaaack! LOL! Of all the name changes Balsac was the one they kept in the US version.

Noel, what couldn't he have kept his name in the US version? Ringo yeah like so many more in America is named Ringo rather than Noel.

Milly dubbed to Tina... No idea why she could not have kept her original name but it's better than Star or Princess.

Heinrich Von Freeman cool name! Cammandor Jamison not so cool.

Honda dubbed to Mac. Not much to say about that name change. Honda is as good as Mac so why change it?

In one of the first episodes when Milly said she was so excited it was like going number 2 for the 1st time in a week I laughed! A sentence like that coming from such a cute girl. That was hillarious.

I will continue to whrite more tomorrow.

There are a few episodic episodes with weaker animation that slowed things down but besides that its awesome. I never did watch Tekkaman Blade II OVA, I hear its not very good.

The dub version(renamed Teknoman) is a laughable joke. Its painful! Honestly I'd rather watch a 4kids dub, its that bad!

Poor D-Boy.

That's what I said at the end of every episode, more or less.

Poor D-Boy especialy in the last episode.

SPOILER! (highlight to read):
I did not expect that type of ending with D-boy winding up in a wheelchair with no memory.

SPOILER! (highlight to read):
The Bonus episode titled "Missing Linh" was more of a trailer than an actual episode. That would have been one awesome continuation of the Tekkaman series. if it was made, but it wasn't

The Tekkaman II released by Urban Vision is on my want list. I have read that all the character in that anime are completely mental. I don't care, I am hoping for a license rescue, perhaps Discotek will come to the rescue.

The original Tekkaman series from the 70's would be cool to check out too. I would buy that one aswell.

I've seen glimpses of the 70's series on youtube. I'd like to check it out too. Oddly enough I liked the OAV better than the series. Both were good.

I watched the original series first. Basic 70s super robot formula but with a powersuit instead. Bad ending as well, it got canceled in the middle of its run.

I've actually stopped watching the series but not because it was bad but because I'am swamped with video games.. Seriously playing Skyrim, Dues Ex HR, and Diablo 3 right now.

But I plan on finishing off the series.. I really like it I'm to episode 36ish I think.

Also I thought Levin is a transgender or something.. Atleast thats what wiki says.

I bought Tekkaman Blade 2 when it first came out on vhs waaay back in the day, and I remembered not thinking too highly of it. It fell into that terrible Japanese writing trap of "here's a sequel, but we're gonna focus on an entirely new cast and not really pay attention to the original until the very end when no one who's still watching this cares." Diebuster did it, that Kite sequel did it, Dangaioh tv did it, and so on and so on.

And as far as Teknoman goes, no one can ever say that the American dub intro music wasn't bad *** when you heard it every Saturday morning!
