That's what I think they're banking on.
Unfortunately, more fan interest in Casshern Sins will only result in people either watching it on Netflix or buying the BD/DVD release rather than giving Cartoon Network the ratings they desire. That's a win for Funimation since CN essentially paid Funi for the right to make Funi even more money, but I don't see what CN gets out of the deal.

Maybe they got a good deal on Deadman Wonderland which didn't have much if any dubbed streaming or any DVD/BD release TBH I'm with whoever said Casshern Sins is going to be too slow of an anime to be a hit.. But I'm really excited to watch Deadman Wonderland as thats something I've been meaning to watch ever since it was on CR.

Yeah I was about to say they made good timing on Deadman. The dub simply hasn't been released yet and they'd be the first to show it. Same with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, for which CN was ahead of Funi's releases. That's pretty much the only way I'll watch shows on there - if I like the dub and if CN's broadcasts are ahead of any other English releases.

If this can take off, an ideal next target would be Inuyasha The Final Act, for which I don't believe the dub has been released yet.

Yeah, but even so Aniplex is doing the release so theres a good chance the average anime viewer won't be buying it.. Although, I don't really know the price of the release for MM; I'm jus' goin' off Aniplex's track record

I know Durarara!! got a good ammount of attention when it aired on AS.. And im sure quite a few fans skipped out on the actual DVD release because of its price-tag (think it was like $75 each volume or something.)

Actually it was the LEs of Madoka that were $75 a piece (SRP $94.98). The Durarara!! sets SRP at $49.98 each (I got them for $39.98 each when they were first released), though it looks like some places are selling them for $70+ each now. Price may be one of the reason fans skipped out on it (and other Aniplex USA releases), but AFAIK Aniplex stuff isn't sold at B&M aside from anime-specialty stores. Their stuff is pretty much online only and only from a handful of online retailers. I'd bet there's a group of people who don't even know it's available to buy.

And as far as Inuyasha Final Act goes, if they want to be the place that premiers the dub, they've got about 5 months to do it. VIZ recently said the DVD & BD release is going to be sometime in November (appears to be split into two 13 episode sets).

We won't know until Tuesday when the ratings go out. We can speculate on what it means for anime then.

I think it's initially going to be big, but frankly I don't think we can speculate on what it means for a couple of months. Generally we won't see any impact unless it's an obvious game changing moment or we see some long term success.
