I hate Sega right now for the sole fact that they delayed Anarchy Reigns for the west to 2013, when the game is complete and fully localized.

Why.

Why.

Because on February 11,2013, SEGA will discontinue publication of ALL packaged 3rd party console games worldwide.

EA has bought up Bio Ware and attempted to get Rock Star.. TBH every Bio Ware game (with the exception of ME2 IMO) since EA bought 'em out has been pretty poor.. I'd hate to see something like that happen to Blizzard.. Then again EA might force them to release more then 1 good game every decade.
Obviously from a Japanese standpoint. Physical content is just too expensive and the budget is way too much to handle so many at a time. Even SquareEnix and Capcom see this, as a result most Japanese publishers are developing and distributing digital and free2play social network browser games.

Also, like I said, these European 5 offices were opened in 2005. They were the ones behind those Wii exclusives MadWorld,Condiut e.t.c

SEGASammy's net worth is $23 billion. They profit mainly on Amusement Machines,Casino Slots,Theme Parks, domestic game releases, own TMS Entertainment,Toys in addition to Panchiko Machines. Sega Orbi will profit domestically and globally on 1st party brands, non gaming multi franchising, and their existing investment brands while their 3rd party brand will be limited to digital media.

As for EA, they are a former shell of itself and is bleeding budget now. I don't see them or anyone buying ActivisionBlizzard for $8 billion. $8 BILLION.

Well, at least SEGA doesn't have to worry about Call of Duty overpowering their releases anymore because MW3 was the reason Sonic Generations was not extremely successful.

Well I'm glad atleast one of their divisions is profitable, although the company is being carried by the sales of its slot machines.. When/if those ever slow down then it definatley can't lean on its game divison which reported a $71.9 million dollar loss earlier this year.

Yeah I don't see EA buying up Activision Blizzard either.. I don't see anyone really going for it..

And trust me, MW3 didn't stop Sonic Generations from being extremely succesful.. It was never going to be a big hit.. Lets face it, the Sonic games are even more stale then the CoD franchise is.

@MechaFan. That's why SEGASammy is re-organizing and becoming Sega Orbi and why they are abandoning all 3rd party packaged media.

SEGA really focused heavy marketing on Sonic Generations and had hoped all the positive feedback and good reviews would carry the game. It and most of 2011's releases were overpowered by Modern Warfare.

Sonic has spanned way more consoles then the CoD franchise has and its switched up its gameplay about just as much But I guess unlike CoD Sonic actually dosn't sale well even after all its 'good reviews and positive feedback' it receives.

To be fair, it is one of the best Sonic games they've made since the Dreamcast. It might actually be the best of all. I don't know if that is enough to lift them out of their troubles.

Sonic is as old as Mario is, but Sega lost the flair of Sonic when Dreamcast died.

The only reason why Mario is such a hit now is because Nintendo is keeping him in the spot light at full force.

I have almost completely ignored the Sega generation after the Dreamcast fell.

But maybe that's just me.
