Not exactly gaming or 3DS directly but just got a Nexus 7 and I think that's a perfect size for a Tablet. Can hold it in one hand comfortably and my hands aren't big. Was playing TWEWY on it.

I just wanted to say I absolutely agree. Coming from a 10" tablet, you realize how incredible it is just to be able to hold you tabby in one hand and then put it in your back pocket when not in use.

And to stay game related, it's a pretty good handheld where the app market/emulators are concerned. Was playing Mother 3 on m the other day and it was pretty awesome.

It hardly even matters though. I never used a DS Lite or DSi at all, and I still played every DS game I wanted to. If I never have a 3DS XL or whatever the next model is, I can still play 3DS games. Not like it suddenly becomes junk just because there's a new model.

I'm sticking with 3DS over XL because I don't like headphones much and weak speakers are an issue for me. A major issue. Also... everything that tenshi_a said.

Thanks for posting the link to this discussion, ryushe. I really appreciated all the input on the differences between the 3DS and 3DS XL.

Since the last Nintendo handheld I purchased was the DSLite--never felt the need to replace it in ~6 years through the entire generation--I was excited about the 3DS when it was released. However, I've never been an early adopter so I chose to wait much like I did w/ the DS generation.

From what I can tell, though, the biggest factors for me in this decision is price tag vs. battery life.

So, for a proud owner of a DS Lite, is the battery life of the XL significant enough to warrant the extra I'd pay in the form of fewer options on deals I might find that include the 3DS?

Normally, I'dve just jumped to the XL without a second thought since it's the newer model, but the reservations of those in the thread seem to suggest that the upgrade from 3DS to XL is so miniscule as to not make much of a difference btw. systems.

Ultimately, I may just end up purchasing an XL, but if I find a nice set of games that come alongside a 3DS on craigslist, the others who have posted here have convinced me that would be the better deal.
