Becaues we eat over our keybords? We have pets like cats that leave fur all over them?

My keyboard is gross. But even if it was washable I still wouldn't wash it

How many keyboards have been ruined because they got some sticky, sugary drink spilled on them that couldn't be washed out?

My brother vomited on one of mine once.

My other brother spilled coffee in the first brother's one.

I wash my keyboard a couple times a year. I just take out all the screws, remove the actual electronic part from the middle, then wash the keys and the shell under the shower with a little liquid soap. It doesn't do it any harm.

I've been using this keyboard a while now. Several of the keys no longer have letters printed on them, due to repeated use. Still works, and I touch-type - so no reason to get another one.

Oddly enough it is a Logitech. Not only ahead of the market, but ahead even of themselves.

I dumped wine in one of my keyboards (shocker, I know) and all I did was unplug it, walk over to the sink and wash it out, electronics and all. I let it dry outside for a day or so before plugging it back in (you'll recall it's a hundred and **** with negative humidity here), and it's worked like brand new ever since.

I think I brought it to the coffee shop and used the steam wand on it once before, too.

Washable keyboards have been around for ages, years and years plus years on top. They use them in medical stuff. Like operating theatres and dentistry and stuff where they want to type but there's loads of patient goo about.

I think this one might perform better though...?

Wasn't that you??

I wipe mine down with one of those bleach wipe thingies after I'm sick... that's about it.

I also shake all the dirt out of it whenever I'm feeling froggy...

I don't have a desktop so I'm still waiting for the entire laptop you can fold up and throw in the washer.
