I lost my password, what can I do?
If you forget your password, you can click on the 'Forgotten Your Password' link on any page that requires you to fill in your password.

This will bring up a page where you should enter your registered email address, and an email will be sent to that address instantly, with instructions for resetting your password.

I made a thread, and now it's gone?!?
Your posts/threads may be deleted due to forum maintenance performed by the administrators and moderators. If you have a forum-related question, check the FAQ before creating a thread. Please do not send us private messages or post questions in AnimeNation Q&A regarding missing threads unless you truly believe it was in error. Due to the volume of traffic on these forums, your question may go unanswered.
  • Your posts may disappear when old threads you have posted to are deleted. Old and dead threads are removed from the site on a regular basis.
  • Your posts may be deleted if they are considered flames or spam.
  • Your posts may disappear if a thread you have posted to is deleted by the person who started the thread.
  • Any messages that, in our sole judgment, appear to violate the Forum Rules may be deleted without notice. We reserve the right to remove any posting and limit or terminate access to anyone for any reason at any time.

Why isn't my post count increasing?
Any posts in non-anime forums will not increase your post count.

Why did my post count go down?
User post counts will fluctuate due to forum maintenance performed by the administrators and moderators. Please do not send us private messages or post questions in Forum Feedback regarding your post count. Due to the volume of traffic on these forums, your question may go unanswered.
  • Your post count may decrease when old threads you have posted to are deleted. Old and dead threads are removed from the site on a regular basis.
  • Your post count may decrease if a thread you have posted to is moved to a Forum that does not accrue post counts.
  • Your individual posts may be deleted if they are considered flames or spam.
  • Your post count may decrease if a thread you have posted to is deleted by the person who started the thread.
Note: Not all forums count towards you post count! These include Fan Art & Fiction; Clubs; Welcome New Members; Computer Zone; General; Polls, Battles & Games; and the Test Forum.

How do I get a picture (avatar) under my username?
You may choose from over 400 avatars, or upload your own avatar, by editing your profile and selecting 'Edit Avatar'.

How do I change my title (the text that appears under my username)?
You may change your custom user text (the title that appears beneath your name on your posts) after you have made 20 posts, and have been a member for at least 30 days. Specify the text you want to display by editing your profile and entering the text you want in the Custom User Text field of your Profile.

How can I be notified when someone replies to my post?
When you post, you can choose to be notified by email when someone else replies to the thread by clicking the 'Subscribe to this thread' link displayed in the thread page.


I receive emails when someone replies to a thread I posted in. How do I make this stop?
To change your notification preference, go to USER CP (link is located in the top gray bar on every page of the forums.) Click on 'Edit Options' in the left side menu. Scroll down to 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' and select 'Do Not Subscribe' from the drop down menu.

If you are receiving emails for a thread you've already posted in, you will need to turn off the notification by unsubscribing from the thread in the USER CP (link is located in the top gray bar on every page of the forums.) Click on 'List Subscriptions' in the left side menu, and then 'View all Subscribed Threads' to see what you're subscribed to.

How do I put a picture in my post?
Images can be shown in your posts, however, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to our board. You must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, your own website or an image hosting site like Photobucket.

To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or press the icon with a camera on it when creating your post. Insert the URL of the image location, example http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif.

How can I create a new Series Specific forum?
The Administrators create forums as needed, meaning when we see a lot of discussions about a certain subject it'll get it's own specific section.

How do I report an offensive post?
If you come across something questionable and want to report it, click the "Report Post to Moderator" function on one of the user's posts (the red stop sign with an X that appears on the right side of the blue bar above their post.) We'll review "offensive" posts on a case-by-case basis.

How do I mark spoilers?
When creating threads that will contain spoilers, mark them!
Example: The End of Evangelion **SPOLIERS**

Please don't name threads with spoilers!
Example: Who killed So-and-So?

If you are posting spoilers within a thread, please use the spoiler tag.

Why can't I use a Hotmail or Yahoo email address for my account?
Hotmail and Yahoo email addresses have been banned to cut down on spam and untraceable accounts. If you have Internet service, you should have an email address that came with it. We recommend signing up with this address.

I have been banned. Can I create a new account?
If you have been banned, you cannot create a new account. If you create a new account it will be banned as well.

How do I become a moderator of these forums?
The Administrators select moderators as needed, based on length of membership, quality of posts and maturity level. Please do not send messages or post threads asking to become a moderator.

How long can my signature be?
Signatures can be no more than 6 lines in length. Signatures with larger fonts must be roughly equivalent to 6 lines at the standard size. You may not post quotations using vBulletin BB code [QUOTE] tags. If you'd like to quote somebody, use an example like the following: "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." - Theodore Roosevelt

Can I have more than one account?
No.
