Revisiting a classic

I've been watching some sailor moon episodes. As a kid I liked the theme song but watching the show made me embarrassed because it was for GURLZ (supposedly) and I didn't really understand the stories since it only aired on YTV and my English wasn't that good back then.

After watching it in Japanese though, I was right to be embarrassed cause the version with mitsuishi and co. is much better! The speeches she gives are so high-pitched and hilarious.

Growing Up Moral, part deux

Posted June 15th, 2009 at 07:32 PM by Victory

High school (grades 7-11)
(7) Major leagues! Or not. This is the first time where we have a dedicated moral education teacher.

The teacher is a French lady fresh off the boat. I don't remember what she taught us, predictably. I know she didn't want to teach us her first name. Some weird and hilarious hang-up you had there, Béatrice. I learned from this class that people in France talk about their love interests more readily than their income. Sure is making $35K CDN a year,...

Growing Up Moral

Updated June 15th, 2009 at 12:42 PM by Victory

Background: historically, in Montreal, French schools were Catholic and English schools were protestant (and vice-versa). So if you wanted your kid to learn French you sent him to a Catholic...
