With a synthy neo-psychedelia feel reminiscent of The Flaming Lips, MGMT's first major label album "Oracular Spectacular" is a dreamlike listening experience with one or two hit singles or potential hit singles ("Kids," "Time to Pretend") overshadowing the rest of the tracks on the album. While good, they simply can't measure up, and this provides an enjoyable yet incongruous listening experience.
