On one of my previous posts I mentioned that I was thinking of writing a letter to a local folk hero, the Hipster Grifter, that is in jail in Utah. So she recently wrote a letter to Animal NY. In this letter she responds to one of my tweets in which I mention that her handwriting should be a font (it should!). So I am really thinking of writing this chick now. I'm trying to think of a way of sending a letter without using my actual address, because let's be honest, I don't want to get grifted once...

I'd like to start this one off with a question: Would it be weird to be a pen-pal with a woman in jail? Wait hear me out. I am referring to the infamous Hipster Grifter (get caught up here). She's in jail just for bad checks and is famous for being a pathological liar and hustling people (hipsters) out of money. I know this sounds bad but, I find her fascinating. She seems clever and witty and awesome. Anyway I am considering writing her in jail.

As many members of AN may or may not know, I am an avid reader of Gizmodo, a gadget blog. I'm a huge fan of the writers and appreciate their sense of humor and general well-balanced approach to gadgets and things technology/science related. Recently they held what they call Gizmodo Gallery, basically a gallery space dedicated to old, new, and just plain interesting pieces of technology.
