The Furries 9/8/11

Sakura sees the look that Brandychan is giving them. “Sensei, perhaps it’s best you explain things for the young lady. She is from another land and unaware of our customs.” She explains. “Ah yes, it’s best that I do that then.” He replied. Looking the table and the settings of food he smiles. “Kitsume are a cultured race. In formal settings like this we use human dishes and tools to eat. It can be a challenge. Normally we would use our human forms. There are rare occasions that we do it in kitsume form. How do we eat? We don’t lap up or eat like we were still feral. We eat like this.” He stated. The Sensei takes on a light red glow and using his paw he picks up the chopsticks and the bowl directly in front of them floats up from the table. He then picks out a piece of food with the chopsticks and places it in his mouth. Then he chews it and swallows. Brandychan lifts her right paw looks at it and then the bowl of food and lets out a sigh.

Sakura giggles. “Sensei you are mean.” She said. “I’m being mean? Ah, I see!” he replied. He then lets the bowl float and points his chopsticks at Brandychan. “Kitsume are creatures of magic. I’m sure you can feel it inside you?” he asked. “I feel something. Like a part of me wanting to get out.” She answered. The Sensei raises an eyebrow and looks at Sakura. “I’ve never had any student describe it that way. You could say that you are a means to use magic like a wand or a staff then?” He asked. Brandychan thinks for a moment. “Yes I could be.” She replied. ‘Good, that will work for now. The part of being a wand is controlling the magic. Small things like using chopsticks or levitating bowls of food are a use of your will.” He explained. “My will?” Brandychan questioned. “Like this, I want to eat. I want the bowl to float in front of me and it floats.” Sakura explained as the bowl in front of her levitates up off the table. “I want to use chopsticks like a human.” She continued and using her paw she picks up the sticks. “Could you just make the food float into your mouth?” Brandychan asked. “Yes you could. However, we are a civilized race and we eat like one. That means using chopsticks, bowls, and glasses. You cannot eat any other way.” The Sensei stated. Watching Sakura pick pieces of food out of the bowl floating in front of her and eating them she again sighs. “Yes Sensei.” She replied. He turns to his food. Staring at the bowl of food she tries to make it float. After a few minutes it moves slightly. Encouraged she tries harder and suddenly the bowl jumps up and flips over. She lets out a yelp of surprise.
