    My Anime Viewing Blog

Wow! A blog fills faster than I thought, I'm already having to resort to comments and this is only my 11th day running it.

I got to episode 26 and I remember things being pretty slow but picking up near the end. I just received the box set for episodes 27 - 51 so I wanted to revisit the early episodes first. And yeah I remember Lunalee being one of the perks of the series, along with that Noah girl too.

    My Anime Viewing Blog

Basically, I'm using the original blog entry, which I'll update as I watch new series until it's full; which takes about a month if I calculated correctly. Then I'm going to continue updating but with the 2 comments I left directly under the original blog post which should extend the use of this blog entry by another 1 to 2 months. After that I'm going to start another blog entry altogether. Doing so allows me to keep this blog entry for longer and make it more extensive, but I'm not planning on simply adding comments afterwords, as I said I'm only going to use the 2 comments that immediately follow the original blog entry before I move to another blog entry. I'm doing that to keep the blog readable since that way the rest of the comment section can be used by whomever would like to comment.

Basically, it's cleaner this way and it allows me to limit the amount of blog entry I make, which would be stagerring if I constantly posted new blogs for each update.

tl;dr: I prefer to have as less blog entries as I can to make it easier to navigate and less stagerring.

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to keep each of your entries in separate blogs? Just using the response part would be too limited.

autsiticanime: Yeah I kinda followed your DeviantArt entries while you were watching Scrapped Princess and Black Butler II and when you watch Cardcaptor Sakura. However, I don't really tune in for Naruto (since I'm not as far as you are I don't want spoilers) or other stuff like Toriko and Gintama which I don't watch.

I'm not reviewing either though, I just post what I'm thinking of while watching the series.

goddessofanime: Yeah I started to watch Naruto a while ago but stopped when VIZ released Shippuden in small 13 episode packs. But since Manga Entertainment UK started releasing 50 episode packs I've been returning to the series. I started watching Naruto about the same time as Bleach. I started One Piece some time ago too but it's on hold now so I'm more or less following the big 3.

You should do your own blog, I'd be interested at least.

I'm kinda doing something similar on my DA page, though its more observations than proper reviewing. I was thinking of moving my blogs here next year.

    Digimon Adventure 02 (1 - 5)
Slow start, as usual for a Digimon season. Though unlike season 1 they are a few things to keep me interested from the get go: The Digimon Emperor is a pretty cool villain, the new Digimons look good too, we got the cast of season one returning and Hikari's grown up

    This blog is now terminated

Note: For those interested in my views on various series, you can read my reviews on My Anime List.

    -ef - a tale of memories (10 - 12)
Alright, I'm not ashamed to admit it, I cried.

Overall one of the better series I've seen and an awesome way to start my 2013 schedule.

    -Re-watched D.Gray-man (2)
Pretty solid episode again. Though the Black Order's security system sucks even more than Jabba's.

    [03/01/13]
    -ef - a tale of melodies (1 - 5)

    [05/01/13]
    -ef - a tale of melodies (6 - 9)

    -Re-watched D.Gray-man (3 - 5)
The ghost story had more appeal than I remember though I can't stand Allen's weapon, never have.

    -Re-watched Shadow Star Narutaru (1)
The first episode: calm, cute and the good start of a fun adventure between kids and their Pokemon like mosters

    -Re-watched Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny (45 - 50)
Just like the rest of the series this was pretty epic and the final battles between mobile suits was downright awesome. I always find it funny how instead of redeeming himself Shinn just gets more stupid and more crazy right down to the end Durandal had a proper end, and lets face it, with that chair all he was missing is Darth Vader by his side while he fired the Death Star. Though I always thought it lacked an aftermath sequence, ends too abrupt.

    -Re-watched Deadman Wonderland (1 - 3)
I just love this show and had to re-watch it

    [06/01/13]
    -ef - a tale of melodies (10 - 12)
    A very satisfying end.

    -Re-watched D.Gray-man (6 - 7)
So we finally get a little more backstory on Allen and we see the Earl.

    [17/03/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (57 - 62)
So the battles were pretty good and they finished the arc nicely with some emotional moments. But it also had moments of stupid:
Nevertheless, the series definitely improved since season 1, upgraded from a 6/10 to a 7/10.

    [18/03/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (63 - 67)
Wow, most of that was pointless/boring. At least it looks like a new arc is starting so things picked up in the last episode of the bunch.

    [31/03/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (79 - 81)
I guess this latest arc is ok. The problem is none of the new "bad guys" feel like they've got the skills necessary to even be a workout for Kenshin so it doesn't have much suspense or excitement. If Kenshin wasn't there at all it might be a little exciting but with him there its like having a benevolent god nearby, you know nothing'll go wrong in the end.

    [02/04/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (82 - 85)
Yep, I was right. Having Kenshin around with low level enemies like these is a sure safety net, nothing can happen. This arc would have been better had Kenshin not been involved, or Sanosuke for that matter. These Beni Aoi were more suited to be a chanllenge to Yahiko and the others.

The new arc (the one with the Black Knights) starts out awesome. I thought the Black Knights would be pretty cool main villains but the Sanada Clan was an even better addition. Not to mention their leader: I thought Misao was the resident hot shinobi, but Misanagi's definitely better.

    [04/04/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (86 - 90)
Well they certainly screwed the pooch with the ending. I don't have anything against a series having the "Damsel in distress" thing going as long as its done well, but
All in all it was a pretty great arc nonetheless, less stupidity induced moments at the end and more episodes to cover the story and make it more epic and it could have been better. Right now all I have to look forward to is this Feng Shui arc which got me intrigued, but also bored so far.

    [07/04/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin (91 - 94)
So this last arc was rather, boring. I dosed off during the Feng Shui babel. In any case, my final assessment of the Rurouni Kenshin TV series would be 7/10, ended up better than I thought after season 1 at least, where it was stuck at 6/10.

    -Rurouni Kenshin Special
That was useless; a slow paced special episode that didn't further the characters in any way and ended up filled with out of place live action sequences. Its like they had to cut a scene in the TV Series and decided to make an episode of it. 6/10

    [08/04/13]
    -Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection (1 - 2)
    [7/10]
This OVA's atmoshere was a drastic change from the TV Series but I liked it. It adapted part of what remained in the manga and at least gave a conclusion on Enishi's quest for revenge, even if a lot was left out due to it being only 2 episodes. I also thought that the ending,

    [09/04/13]
-First Squad: The Moment of Truth
    [7/10]
Characters had potential and so did the story and setting, but the length of the movie as well as the execution weren't up to the task unfortunately. The short amount of time the movie lasts made many of its more serious moments seem cheesy and prevented a proper development of the characters and the story. It's too bad really, this could have been something. Still, it wasn't bad at least.
