I thought you posted something about thinking you might be pregnant once...

Yeah, I've tried to tell people about that feeling wierd sensation. I was talking to some girl about Rainbow Bright, or my liitle ponies, and mentioned it made me feel wierd. Actually I think there is a lot of allure for males to break their gender restrictions. It can be a rush.

    Grass is greener/familiarity breeds contempt

In certain places in certain periods people were less rude than they are in many developed countries today.

It wasn't because they were better or more civil or anything of that sort. It was because people routinely carried lethal weapons with them and knew how to use them. People are less willing to be rude for petty reasons if it might easily result in a swordfight or gunfight breaking out and getting killed.

Tribes 2: best first-person shooter you don't know

I was hoping someone would reply saying they knew all about tribes

Hm yes I agree with your comment. I was watching someone stream "the conduit" earlier which is a new shooter that just came out for the wii and it had... nothing going for it. I mean I don't want them to reinvent to wheel every time a new game comes out but I'm not going to play another "run around with a rifle and shoot bad guys" game.

Right now I'm thinking of getting TF2 just because it has more servers to play on and you can switch roles just like in tribes. Except with no flying around at 300 kph

I didn't play tribes 1 or online UT because I had no 3D graphics card or high-speed internet until 2001. (although T1 apparently works well enough with a 56k modem). I did play a ton of wacky UT mutators and mods offline though hahah.

I don't know? I played that game when it first came out. It wasn't my main game (more focused on competitive Ut99, and I was casually lvling up my game in CS1.3), but I got into it by a friend, and I was shocked how good it was. I know Gibb is gonna kill me if he heard that, but I never played Tribes 1. It was a little before I got my first PC.

That game took some skill. Flying that damn gunship was so damn hard with out that Tribes mouse mod that lets you tweak the sensitivity better. So many good things to say about the game. They don't make grand scale games like these like they used to.

With consoles dominating the market these days, we get nothing but watered down ideas with little to no innovation. Once in a blue moon some good stuff comes out, but since people only stick to "whats safe" these games become instant failures, and people think twice about taking risks. The industry has hit the plateau, and it's gonna need something revolutionary to get back on track.

**** graphics man, we need more fast paced games like Tribes, Quake world, Quake 3, CPMA, Painkiller, Warsow, and any other game that requires skill, and not hand holding aim assist.

Escaping the Public Bus of Death

    There's no fee.

or rather it's collected in hidden fees elsewhere and not when you get on.

Escaping the Public Bus of Death

I'm having trouble figuring out whether the IR sensor is passive or sends out an actual IR beam (which would reflected on the floor)(found online descriptions for both). In any case sticking a small piece of either IR-reflective or IR-opaque material into the sensor would probably stop the door from opening. But I want to help people off the bus not keep them inside with me. ew.

I forgot to add that newer bus models also have a pressure sensitive bar you can use to get out. That's right, two ways to get out and idiots still manage to get trapped inside.

@oldhat, can you pay your bus fee at the back of the bus? because here people only enter at the front since that's where you pay your fee/show your bus pass.

I have however heard before that folks here are surprisingly civilized here when it comes to public transportation. And I believe they are for the most part yeah (letting people get off before going inside). So it's all not all bad, hurray!

Where I live they can't figure the complexity of getting on through the front door and getting off through the back doors. If people would get on the front door and get off the back doors, everything would go smoothly.

    Instead this is what happens.

The Bus stops. People near the front immediately get up and head out the front door where they came in. They run square into the line of people trying to get on. This causes a big snarl. People seeing this snarl go for the open back door with its exit only sign and run straight in to people trying to get off. There's another snarl. So there's a snarl at both the bus entrance and exit.

    Every single stop.

lols, I came across this by random, but that's pretty funny.

If the infrared beam emits from the top, does that mean there's camera below, or does it use something else to figure out the beam has been cut?

If you figure out the mechanics of this, you could really ruin some peoples day

but that would be wrong of course...

You mean Disney wants to make one of the products we love and buy...a dildo? Lovely.

And yes, I've seen that cover. It's hilarious.
