So, my back still sucks

Posted May 15th, 2012 at 07:40 PM by Shiroiyuki

Yeah, fun times. Loving this old, lumpy couch and the sad deflated pillow I've been laying on all day.

Just getting up to use the facilities or to get food is murder. I don't know what I did to myself but goddamn it, my whole lower back is in agony. I shuffle. I actually old-man-with-a-cane shuffle.

It's terrible. Should have seen me try to get into the bottom of the fridge earlier. Think I might have shaved about ten years off trying to bend over far enough

Wait until you're 40. It gets a whole lot worse. You'll see.

You know those parts of you that you feel good about now? The parts that make you say, "Well, my back's killing me, but at least my right wrist and eyebrows are doing well." Yeah, those parts will hurt just as much.

It's fun, aging. Really. You've got loads to look forward to.

Should be a motivational speaker, you know that? That little extra pep was all I needed to feel better about the fact I had to get assistance using the bathroom. Because my night couldn't have gotten much worse, thanks a bunch.

Lucky for me the women in my family live very short lives. I won't have to suffer as much as you think once I hit 40, no worries. Five, ten years tops.

Hey, thanks to my apnea, I had dreams of having heart attacks all last night. Don't even TRY to play the sympathy card with me, my Young-And-Still-Able-To-Heal Buckarette.

Aging is still better than the alternative, even if we walk like an old man when we wake up in the morning...

*tch* It's not that bad. I can still get out of bed without a cane and everything. I don't even need a bar to hang on to in the shower.

    Oh, okay.

So far that young-and-able-to-heal thing's been working out real nice for me. Yeah, what with the fact I've been having such a horrible time for, oh, I don't know....almost two years now? September 2010...so...yeah, just about. Fun times.

For the record, just so you know, most of the time I can't breathe, either.

Combination of ****ed up ribs, a bad back, and the occasional bout of Plurisy that I just can't seem to get rid of presses down on my lungs like you can't imagine.

Oh, and it never goes away. I don't have to be sleeping for it to strike. I never ever EVER get a break from it, unlike you and your apnea, which only affects you during the night.

I posted this because I didn't want to see the furry crap at the bottom of this forum and I had nothing else to talk about. I'm kind of boring these days, what with the limited mobility and all.

But I guess I can't even do that anymore without someone whipping out the measuring tape telling me they are suffering worse.

Ah, but you are still young and beautiful, whilst I am old and ugly.

Doesn't matter how you spin it, you still have something to be grateful for. And that, my dear, is the point.

Or, if you're not up for points. then... hey, at least I've invoked the Power Of Spite within you. I'll take that over self-pity any day.

You're stronger than that. You shouldn't need to be reminded.

I have true compassion for you, and I give you credit for having seen more than most people my age should've lived through. But I will not condone self-pity, and I will call you on it.

You are a remarkable and exquisitely talented young woman. Yes, you have some difficulties. Yes, they can suck sometimes. But you're more than strong enough to thrive despite any disadvantages you might have. I'd encourage you to remember that more often, my Lady.

^Yeah but I was never pretty even when I was young.

There's a rash on my foot and it itches. Well it doesn't really any more and it's going away but it itched. It was very itchy.

Whenever there's a discussion like this Desslock starts sounding like a bit character from a Stephen King novel ayuh.
