Now I've thought long and hard on this question. Who do I believe is the greatest hero in the history of anime?
Well, I have four words for you .......
Listen To My Song!

Yes! That is correct. Nekki Basara, the hero of Macross 7, a man who saved the universe with music. It was awesome music at that.
Overall, Basara is a hero I can definitely identify with. He didn't like fighting, he wanted to create peace with his art. He wanted to reach people on both sides by playing music. Inspired by how Minmei's music reached through to the Zentraedi in the original Macross, Basara took that to the next level, infact many levels byond.
I dare say that Macross 7 was the perfect sequel to Macross by carrying the idea of communication and peace realised through music to the next level and Nekki Basara is the greatest hero in anime history.
Now rock out with the awesome music of Firebomber!

I just happened to be listening to this version of Totsugeki Love Heart today:

Yoshiki Fukuyama performed all Nekki Basara's guitar and singing work in Macross 7, and May'n was the singing voice of Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier.
His voice isn't doing too well in this performance (maybe it's the toll of years of performing) but he's been inventive with harmonies to make it sound as good as he can. It's cool either way.
I still haven't finished watching any Macross series... from what I've seen I did like Macross 7 a lot more than the original series and Macross Plus...Posted September 1st, 2009 at 06:03 AM by tenshi_a

Oh Wow! That was awesome. Now there is a preformance that should have been included in the anime.
That's cool to hear. Out of all the Macross series, I would rank Macross 7 on top. It just seems alot more fun than the others. Of course I've liked all of the entries of the franchise that I've seen, but hey, everyone has their favorites.Posted September 1st, 2009 at 08:57 PM by doom&jellybeans
