What I think of the Minoru Award nomination

Well its always nice to be nominated for something in life. You know I was nice when I got this the first time around...but now to be recommended for it twice...before i put in my true thoughts let me give you a refresher if you don't know what Minoru is or at least...what i definitely have a feeling what it is.
Minoru is the name of King Edward VII's horse that won the 1909 Epsom Derby.
I saw some other definitions of what it could mean but this fits the bill in my book.
Now my thoughts of it..
Obviously this award even if its meant as a joke to some I find it to be crude.
No scratch that...I find it to be nothing more then a self esteem KILLER!! Along with any award nominations on here that are ment to be disrespectful twords another person.
Nominated for this for the very fact I was trying to stop someone from making a costly mistake in their lives...
Well heres where you can take that nomination..you take that nomination and shove it back up the horse from where it came from and send it on its merrily way!
MPB is the only award I ever need.

I'd explain what the award is, but I think I'll leave the honor to Desslock since he created it. Rightfully so, as he was at the receiving end of that one.

Well...sounds interesting i'm looking forward to hearing that..not.
However the horse is what i found on the web so that what I assumed it ment.
Nevertheless if it is indeed anything like i said on this blog he knows where he can take it.

Don't take the comments or jokes seriously. Hell, don't take this reward seriously either. Almost everyone at some point has gotten flamed or made fun for something that they've posted. If I let the haters get to me, I would've left a long time ago.
So just treat this as a joke; like, 'Hell yeah, I got a reward. At least I HAVE ONE'.

I ultimately don't mean it as a personal insult, but you have that "I won't be deterred from believing something by facts and logic" quality that may past nominees have shown.
If your self-esteem has been damaged by the nomination, you still have half a year to turn around your reputation on AN. Simply think. Research your topics and base your opinions on fact and reason.
In all honesty, you're not that strong a contender, because you prefer to parrot what other people believe rather than hold strong convictions yourself. A TRUE Minoru award nominee, in addition to having the quality of being impervious to fact and reason, should also have very strong nontraditional convictions about something. And by "nontraditional" I mean "borderline insane".

Eh, I still think those furries we had some time ago are currently better deserving of the '09 award. They fit the criteria admirably well, I must say. Well, we're only half-way through the year. There's plenty of stuff that could happen so we'll see about that.
Walt, I wouldn't say your views are unusual at all. They just seem like the condensed stereotypes of "the proper human being". They're what we all believe... just taken too seriously, without apparent reflexion, common sense or temperance from life experience. I'm just offering my perspective, here, not judging you or anything. I think you've got quite a ways to go to match any of the previous guys nominated to the Minoru award who were, by all accounts, quite loony in their beliefs (but that wasn't always a bad thing. <3 Zuggy

The awards aren't even that important, think of them as a...watered down popularity contest. Some people are more popular than others (for good and bad reasons, oh well what are you gonna do?)

I think the "hungry anime girl fetish" guy is probably more Minoru-worthy, in all honesty. Punnchy's a furry, he came out, he got beat up, and that was that. But at least Punnchy's fetish, being sexual in nature, is out of bounds for discussion on AN.
The Hungry Fetish guy got his threads deleted and actually banned for talking about content that would not otherwise be verboten on AN. If he'd just come on and said, "I'm making a humorous compilation clip of anime stomach growls! List all you can!" then he'd have never had a problem. He'd have gotten all kinds of positive responses. It was only when we suspected he had a bit of an... odd agenda... that we rode him out of town on a rail.

First off before anything thank you for clearing up the award. Its a shame I couldn't find some of his posts that got this person famous enough to have an award named after em.
Yet clearly I still find it to be exactly what I thought it is..self esteem killer. But if you insist on continuing to nominate people for such an fruity award might i suggest putting in the king's horse bit to the award. It would make it more catchy and funny if that is indeed its purpose.

I want to mention this to everyone because I can relate to this one. As some of you might know I use to do a yugioh card game club. Some people were looking for a fresh way to make it better. So we started a side league (kind of like the WWF to some) to give some people a fun way to compete. Not meant to be taken serious at all. Even had titles for certain champions.
Sadly some people took it serious..WAY to serious. They even took it to threads and had these nasty flame posts on and off the thread.
Goddessofanime said that this is just a stupid anime site..well in this case it was the same thing it was just a stupid card game..and people in there 20s we're acting like cry babies. It was pathetic.
So a little word of sincere of caution some people can take a joke and others may take it a little more then that. What may start as something harmless could become something you can no longer control.
SAY! Speaking of awards. I got one for you guys to check out sometime.
I use to enjoy watching the WWF back in the 90's. They had what was was called the Slammy awards where people called in and voted who would be the winner.
Anyways I got a kick out of this one. It was 1997 and it was called the
"Larry Flynt Freedom of Speech Award." witch was presented by Bob Backlund .
A whole bunch of whacky customers were nominated for it and you got to check that out sometime it was funny as heck. Epically Bob Backlund his in ring character was hilarious!
The winner of the award was Stone Cold Steve Austin( during his 96-early 97 timeline)
and that time he was a heel character he talked trash and couldn't back it up.
Personally I liked that stone cold so much better.It was great entertainment.

I do the best I can to think. But its my way of thinking and expressing it in the form of an opinion.
Yet theres times in
life when even facts and logic just don't matter to some people. Just in the last 2 years..I've really noticed that.
I do try my best to keep an open mind.
My main concern..is mostly the ones that take common sense issues and just throw
it out the window. More importantly issues that you never
would dream of being challenged that are now being put on the chopping block do to lack of thinking.
I just find it unbelievable what people are getting away with today.
Anyways I just say what I feel on something and thats all it is.

When I was doing my search of Minoru I did check it out.
