Experiencing Final Fantasy IV

Posted July 19th, 2009 at 12:07 PM by Tonyx35

I've put in a few hours on this game and I must say that I'm quite impressed, so far (VII was the first in the series I ever played).

What I like
5 member battle parties
Battle formation/order
Weapon variety (Harps & Bows aside the usual swords, spears)
Characters (especially Rydia and Cecil)
Story (How party members end up leaving and re-joining, and how abilities are unlocked as the story progresses)
That village with the little people
Music (especially hearing the prelude theme in the crystal chambers)

Not so much
I keep getting "Inventory Full" message and I have no clue what to sell/drop.

The point I'm at is that Cecil turned into a Paladin (fun time when his level reset), got the Earth Crystal, off to some tower (dungeon).

Where are you Rydia?

Now I'm starting to get why IV is on a lot of "Favorite Final Fantasy" lists. Square sure knew how to make them.

Square puts that in a lot of games. Play Parasite Eve. You are consistently throwing away items or going to a box to store them at. It's annoying as hell.

Yeah it is, especially when I'm deep in a dungeon and have to choose what to choose keep from chests and battle rewards.

I do have the airship (for now) so if I do need older equipment I guess I could always fly back to the town that has it and buy it again. I also hit "sort" every few battles or when I leave town after getting fresh supplies.

Funny that you mention Parasite Eve, it's on my list of old Square titles to find and play.
