Chapter 1
(Ayumu’s narration)
To protect everyone…
In the main office of Tokyo, Japan, two immortals: Kobayashi Saito and Takahashi Ayumu are waiting for the details of their next mission…
Saito:” Remind me why we are standing here and doing nothing when we could be doing something useful with our time.”
Ayumu: “Define you meaning of useful.”
Saito:” We could be helping people with stuff.”
Ayumu:” You mean we could be sitting at home watching some silly comedy while eating popcorn, right.”
Saito: “Wow! We only know each other for only two years and yet you know what I am thinking. You are awesome, Ayumu!”
Ayumu’s thoughts: (That’s only because when you are in a good mood you are as easy to read as an open book with a soundtrack.)
Saito:” So where is the person that is supposed to give us our mission and explain it to us? I am losing my patience!’
Ayumu: “Calm down, Saito! We were a little early and besides, we have only been waiting five minutes.”
Saito: …
Ayumu: “We should be patient. Ok, Saito.”
Saito: “Is patient a verb or a noun?”
Ayumu: …
Saito:” Ahh! Here is the person that will give us the mission!”
Ayumu: “He is right on time. And I think I know him. Ahh! I remembered! His name is Moriyama Akito. He is the fourth member of the seventh branch here in Tokyo.”
Saito:” He must be pretty good to be in Tokyo.”
Moriyama: “It is nice to meet you two. I am here to tell you your mission and its details. As you know the Hakodate office branch has been researching something called the “Savior” that was destroyed seven years ago. We want you to go and protect whatever it is and teach it to use its power. We will use the Time Transporter and go back in time eight years and prevent the tragedy from happening. We do not know anything else so you will have to find out everything else out on your own.”
Saito: ”When are we going?”
Moriyama: “Tonight at 11:00 p.m. We will be waiting for you at the Hakodate main office.”
Ayumu: “What do we need to take with us?”
Moriyama: “Nothing. We will go to your house and put everything into a dimensional item.”
Ayumu: “Alright then. We will go for a walk until evening.”
Moriyama: “Very well. We will be waiting for you. Please do not be late. Good day.”
Saito: ”Bye!”
After we said goodbye to Moriyama, Saito and I went to a café to eat some lunch.
Saito: “What is a dimensional item, Ayumu?”
Ayumu: “It is an item that has the storage space of a dimension.”
Saito: “Wow! I wonder how people find there things in an item so big!”
Ayumu: “When a person needs something from the items storage, he just needs to imagine what it is and if it is in the items storage, the item will appear beside your hand.”
Saito: “Neat!”
After that we just kept talking until evening. Then we started on our way to the meeting spot. It was really dark and it was hard to see a thing. We got to the office where a group of high officials were waiting to see us off. At the time we did not know that we had just gotten tangled into a mystery that had not been untangled for seven years.
