Publisher - Marvel/Soleil Productions
Original title - La Geste des Chevaliers Dragons
Marvel Comics is collaborating with noted French comics publisher Soleil Productions to bring some of their most popular titles to the US. One of the early ones is Tales of the Dragon Guard.

This is a heroic fantasy setting with a twist or two thrown in. Long ago, dragons began to appear. No one knows why. Their very presence twists world around them. The land becomes warped. People twist into monsters. This effect is called The Veil. Only virgin females are immune to it. Only virgin females can't be sensed by the dragon's mysterious mystic senses. Because of this, an organization called the Dragon Guard was formed from virgin female recruits to deal with the dragons. There are the world's only line of defense against the creeping corruption of The Veil *dun dun dun*
This is a 3 issue limited series. Each issue is its own story but they are connected together by minor characters that are introduced in one and become central characters in the next. It's closer to a story anthology than a single 3 issue long story. The art and storytelling style here is quite different from most American comics. It is much more frank about death and sexuality than most American titles would be. The art is more naturalistic though not necessarily more realistic. In a way, it is more like something from Heavy Metal magazine than a standard US comic release.
The artwork is very well done. The inking is good but the colors are more subdued than usual. The writing is very good but each storyline is a bit terse compared to most titles. It is more like older titles US where each issue is its own storyline. Individual issues are longer than normal and correspondlingly more expensive at $5.99 per issue.
There is a second series: Tales of the Dragon Guard: Into the Veil. It is set in the same world and has the same premise but isn't a sequel. It is another 3 issue limited series with each issue being its own story. You can read it before this one without any trouble.
