Happy that she had arrived and finished registration early and before it got stacked up with people. She checks out her bag and pulles out the con booklet and finding an open table sat down and began to read the information. She finds a convention schedule and event list in the booklet. It also contained a map of the Hotel and where the event rooms, viewing rooms, and dealer’s room were at. Brandy gives herself a check over. Brown sandals with a brown leopard spotted dress she looked nice. Watching the people walk by she wonders when her friends were going to arrive.
Mr. Simmons was happy to arrive at the convention Hotel on time. His team had to be there the night before. The displays, tables were in one truck. The van he drove with Cassandra had the suitcases, clothing and most of the items they were going to sell. Cassandra had complained for a short while, fidgeted with her collar and bell. She then took out her I-pod and headphones and became quiet listening to the music. She never heard the soft chant that he did. Cassandra was in a deep sleep by the time they had left the road to the valley and had gotten on the interstate. He knew that this was Cassandra’s first trip out of the valley. Watching her sleep as he drove to Dallas was a treat.
Stopping at a truck stop for dinner and gas was enjoyable and Cassandra liked the attention she received just by wearing her collar. Finishing they loaded back up and finished driving to Dallas. They arrived at eight in the evening the night before. Cassandra’s eyes were filled with wonderment the sight of Dallas at night. She was quiet and reserved when they pulled up at the Hotel. She did nothing more than look around when they picked up the room reservations and keys to their rooms. They then unloaded their suitcases and clothing and took them to their room. Mr. Simmons then took Cassandra and the others to dinner at the Hotel restaurant.
Cassandra was shocked at the prices of the food. Mr. Simmons just laughed “This is a five star restaurant. They have the best food. Look around Cassandra this is not Mary’s diner in town.” He explained. Mr. and Miss Jones also laughed. “You’re right. I’ve never eaten at a place like this.” Cassandra nswered. “Cassandra, if you need help ordering let me help.” Miss Jones asked. “Don’t worry about the prices. This is your first time eating out like this. Just get what you want and enjoy.” Mr. Jones added. Mr. Simmons smiled and was happy. He looked at the group. Both Mr. Jones and himself were dressed in suits. Miss Jones was wearing a blue sundress. Cassandra a dove grey sundress with sandals. Only her collar stood out. “This is good the other kids will see her collar.” He thought. Looking around he could see that there were plenty of convention people already there and many eating in the restaurant. Several of the kids were looking at Cassandra and one even pointed at her collar. Even the Jones’s also noticed and they whispered to each other. Cassandra busy with her menu never noticed a thing.
