I'm personally against it, but for some reason I'm worried that he will become one...

Wait, I thought no major character dies in one piece? Or is that the 1st exception?

NOBODY dies in One Piece. It's even worse than Bleach, atleast when the villans are killed there, they're actually killed. One Piece is like a Nintendo game, people don't die they just turn into an item and float away or some ****.
Oh, whats that? You thought those fights we're really burtal and serious? No no, everyone just goes to a big prison.

Oda doesn't need to. The separation of the straw hats was one of the most powerful things to happen and not a person was killed to do it.

No Magellan was killing people. He tried to kill Teach, he tried to kill Luffy and jailbreak crew. Also Oda is about to kill off Whitebeard and from the most recent spoilers Ace too.

Not reading the spoilers, but I'm inclined to think not, for the sole reason that it would double the workload for his seiyuu. Has anyone else in One Piece had THREE roles? Even if two of 'em are really bit players...

Not reading the spoilers, ...
You need to start reading the manga Biscuit. You get the epic much much sooner.

It's funny you should mention that, because I've been planning to. After all, I don't have that many more episodes of the anime left until I'm caught up. As you might have seen me mention, just lately after trying and failing to take an interest in the flavour-of-the-month, Gurren-Lagann, I started watching One Piece again and since then I've marathoned through over 150 episodes in a few weeks. It's just that addictive, sometimes I can't sleep until I watch just a couple more. :D
So yeah... at this point I figure I'll pick up the manga starting from whatever comes after the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Meanwhile I've been reading a few of the title-page mini arcs, and also reading selected chapters to see what is changed. While I still love the One Piece anime so much, it's undeniable that there seem to be more fillers and they impact on canon material more than they should.
I mean, in the anime...
Franky shows off Sunny's special abilities for the first time in the Ice Hunter arc, which is fine... it doesn't really change the story much. It's still not the way it was supposed to be though.
So... you could say that at the moment I'm gradually easing into manga, and have been since Enies Lobby. I came pretty late to the party, but three years (I think) later, I'm even more excited than I was to begin with. I mean, I thought that Arlong Park was cool the first time I saw it, and it still is... but damn, it doesn't compare to some of the recent stuff.

I actually enjoy the older arcs more the second time around, just because we see the little threads Oda lays out years in advance. My personal favorite is (don't read if you haven't gotten past the Shabody Archipelago arc) Crocus's final comment when the Strawhats sail away from the twin capes asking Roger what he thinks of Luffy then finding out from Rayleigh that he sailed with them to the end of the Grand Line It is a perfect example of him having characters and plot worked out long before he puts pen to paper, I love any writer who can do that.
