Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

You could definitely be forgiven for not knowing who she was. I had to think about it, mostly I'm only dismayed because she died in her early thirties rather than because of who she was.

Cardiac arrest, at 32.....yup she took something.

2009 continues to be a bad year to be a celebrity. I guess there was just enough time left in the year for one more.

Well, I thought Murphy was sexier but if that's what you like, then... Whatever.

2009 continues to be a bad year to be a celebrity.

I'm beginning to suspect that there may be something to all this 2012 stuff after all and the celebrities are all leaving early to avoid the rush.

Well with some of the people that died and the way that some of them died, probably.

Wow, Wikipedia's entry for her has already closed her out. That's dedication.... somewhere...

I vaguely remember watching the first few episodes of King of the Hill, but don't remember Luanne's voice.

I had to look up her movies because she did not look familiar… and I found out that I have never seen any of her movies.

Anyway RIP Brittany Murphy.

i totally didn't know who she was until my bf said she did Luann on king of the hill. i don't keep up with actors names... too many of them for me to keep up with... unless i really enjoy them. that does suck that she died so young... probably drugz tho... i mean seriously... the famous are notorious for that kinda stuff.

I'm totally bummed about this news. I've followed BM's career and always loved her work. She was way too young and had a lot of potential still in the entertainment business. **sigh**

Yeah, there had been rumors about her being a user. But then, who isn't a user in Hollywood? Still, it's sad when anyone dies so young.

So sad, so many celebrities have died this year!! I remember her roles in Clueless, Blossom, 8Mile, and King of the Hill. She was so young (1 year older than me) and was so down to earth as an actress. Lets see what the autopsy results will show. May she rest in peace.

He was only her stepbrother. They weren't related in any way. They each had two biological parents neither of which were shared. Her father married his mother, long after both of them were born.

I had to check to be sure of my facts, since it has been a while since I watched the movie... but really when it is a stepbrother whose mother isn't even married to her father anymore, it's hardly any different from falling for any random guy,

Really shocked when I read this, at first I suspected drugs but they seem to be saying it was natural causes, at 32, scary.

Though she didn't really stand out to me in Sin City, I liked her in 8 Mile and Clueless.

It is a shame, though less because she's an actress and more because she was still young and it was so sudden.

"Sorry everyone thinks you're a man, Aunt Peggy. You know how everyone is."

My big sister came over and was all, "Oh God! Do you know Brittany Murphy died?!" She was on her phone a good while searching about news concerning her death. I forgot she really liked the Clueless movie/series.

I've seen a good number of her films, but I really only know her as Luanne (Kleinschmidt, guys), who was my favourite character in KotH (which is currently, probably, my favourite television show).

My heart goes out to her husband, Very Sad.
