I don't know if this means anything to anyone else, but Oral Roberts passed away today at the age of 91.

(CNN) -- Evangelist Oral Roberts, founder of the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and Oral Roberts University, died Tuesday from complications of pneumonia in Newport Beach, California, his spokeswoman said. He was 91.

Roberts' son, Richard, and daughter Roberta were at his side, spokeswoman Melany Ethridge said in a statement.

Roberts was hospitalized Monday following a fall on Saturday, in which he suffered broken bones, Ethridge said earlier, adding he was being treated for pneumonia.

There will be a private interment, the statement said. Arrangements for a public memorial service in Tulsa, Oklahoma, are pending.

"Oral Roberts was a man of God, and a great friend in ministry," the Rev. Billy Graham said in a statement Tuesday. "I loved him as a brother. We had many quiet conversations over the years."

I heard about this a bit earlier today. He did many great things in his time.

God Bless, Oral Roberts!

Looks like he couldn't sucker enough people into shelling out for his latest scheme.

He should have asked for $8 Million again.

Ironically enough, he spoke against oral sex.

Not so Ironically ORU is in Oklahoma right in the middle of the bible belt. They are considered a major university but aren't nearly as big as OSU/OU.

Billy Graham is still alive?

I think so, but it looks like he has one foot in the grave and the other is about to step on a banana peel.

He was a con man. Why should I care about him? When was the last time I actually cared about christian fundamentalists anyway? Oh wait....never.

Just asking, but what's so bad about Benny Hinn? I mean, I don't trust any televangelists to not be on the take, but what makes Hinn worse than the others? My dad used to watch Benny Hinn every day, not sure if he still does.

(Soon afterwards...)
Ahh, I see. Well... that's about what I expect from televangelists. I'm not even shocked, that's what I see them as being all about.

(Obligatory...)
RIP Oral Roberts, even if I don't trust televangelists, you probably don't deserve for me to say anything bad about you. I certainly never heard anything specific to suggest you were one of the the crooked ones, which alone sets you apart.

Benny Hinn is in it for Benny Hinn. He does not even open fake charities or do any projects to help poor people. The majority of other televangelist. Of course the best televangelist ever died in 1979 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prgvEA2D4sw&feature=related).

Oh my. He seems like the genuine article, to judge from what I was able to find about him by searching. I bet you don't find many televangelists nowadays who would be considered for canonization.

Plus he totally rocked that cape, he puts batman to shame in how good he looks in that cape. Sheen is great because he would talk about psychology, history, mathematics, and philosophy during his show.
