Go with an anime themed cake. Creative, not suggestive, and a friend thing since you both like anime.

I have an example to vouch for stuffed animals.
So it's my little sisters birthday (hear me out, I'm not a creeper) and I'm at Walmart looking for a gift. I find a big-ol stuff dog that's pretty cheap, so I buy it. Girl at the express lane is I'd say a teenager. She checks it out and says that it's such a cute animal, and asks if it's for my girlfriend. I tell her its for my sister. Middle aged woman overhears and tells me that it's an excellent gift that I chose out.
Stuffed animals work for any age group. Make sure it's big.

Heh. Well there you go! You just answered your own question. Now all you need to do is:
1: Find an anime shes been wanting to watch for some time.
or
2. Find something from a show she already enjoys. Could be a plush, key chain, ect..theres fan items that have respectable and affordable price.
I wish you luck and hope you find a good gift. Remember in the end its the thought that counts.

It all depends on what she likes…however since she likes anime you could always go with a boxset of an anime she likes. Stuffed Animals are always a good thing to get along with Candy and Flowers/Plants. Also, if she likes lotion Bath and Body Works has wonderful lotions and scents (plus, they have neat gift baskets and candles!)

I think you should go with your gut. If there's something inside you that says no, or yes, follow it. But don't have it overshadowed by everything else. But also use some logic.
This applies to practically everything.

I think the rose by itself would do the job. Love letters are pretty sappy if you ask me. Unless it's to a special someone who you have been far away from for a long time and you wanna let them know how you feel.

Both will die and shrivel up. In the case of a flower being trapped in an air-tight container (like an envelope for instance), it will die and get really mushy instead. Yum.
So unless you want her letter to be stained, nasty, and/or gooey, skip the petals and go with the whole shebang. Buy it no more than a couple days beforehand (if you can't find any Christmas, Christmas Eve).
By the way, you're a cheapskate.

Ya, this is an old thread but I might as well weigh in on it.
Giving a really big gift to someone who isn't either your girlfriend/boyfriend or really close friend is a bad idea. It's kind of like saying, "I got you this so I want you to love me." So they'll probably feel obligated to get closer or be nicer to you which creates a false relationship.
I see this mistake happen all the time. I remember my little brother bought his first girlfriend a thousand dollar necklace and she broke up with him like a week later.
So you're better off just spending some quality time with her without being obviously desperate or pushy.

dont go to the store trying to find a good 'gift for a girl', go there to find a gift for her as an individual. girls don't universally like things anymore then guys do.
Wrong. Guys like sex universally.

Try and get your mom to let you watch the Hangover sometime.
Wrong. Guys like sex universally.
Women like sex just as much as men do. If they have you believing anything to the contrary you're an idiot.

That is one of the worst bits of advice concerning women that I have ever heard. Flowers are a great gift, unless the girl has bad allergies. However they're obscenely expensive.

It's because of some bull about how it turns kids onto smoking. Kids only buy them to roll weed in. If they wanna smoke a rillo they go buy a black.

Totally depends on the girl. I love books and DVDs if they're carefully chosen. Housecleaning service once a month would also be really appreciated.=)
