The moral is never ask for a roll when you have sliced bread.

Florida woman attacked disabled boyfriend with uncooked steak (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2009/1208091steak1.html)

DECEMBER 8--Meet Elsie Egan. The Florida woman, 53, is facing a felony domestic abuse charge for allegedly striking her boyfriend several times in the head with a raw steak, according to police. Egan, pictured in the below mug shot, was busted last night after a confrontation in the Dunnellon home she shares with Peter Schabhuttl. The 49-year-old Schabhuttl is described in a Marion County Sheriff's Office report as disabled and terminally ill with cancer. He told cops that Egan, his live-in girlfriend of 16 years, struck him "on top of his head with an uncooked steak (approximately 10-16 oz.)" after they quarreled about bread to be consumed at dinner. Schabhuttl wanted a roll. Egan, however, wanted him to eat sliced bread. "He said that when he refused, she attacked him with the steak," reported Deputy Carmen Gallup, who noted observing slight redness on Schabhuttl's right cheek and the crown of his head. While Egan denied wielding the steak, she admitted slapping Schabhuttl several times "so that he can learn."

I love how the argument is about something incredibly trivial. I mean, I've had some arguments (not involving abuse with steak) about next to nothing in the past, but this... >_<

I just hope people realize that it's not bread that kills people, it's people with bread that kill people. As a bread enthusiast, the last thing I want to see is the Bread Control Lobby using this as an excuse to further restrict the activities of responsible, taxpaying, law-abiding bread owners.

I just hope people realize that it's not bread that kills people, it's people (and sometimes monkeys) with bread that kill people.
I Izzarded that up for you.

uh, slow news day?

The original title of the article "Monday Night RAW" was better than this thread title, imho.

Is that supposed to be not as bad? She assaulted her disabled, terminally ill boyfriend in an effort to control him through violence. That's pretty damn low, to assault a dying cancer patient though it's funny that I read an article yesterday where someone claimed that women only use violence in domestic situations when they have to defend themselves.

.....yeah.

So get pissed off because he won't eat a few cent's worth of sliced bread but waste a perfectly good steak. Dumbass.

I'm not surprised at this. Florida IS part of the South after all.

But I do hope this ***** gets what she deserves. You don't attack someone who's terminally ill with cancer and disabled.

While true, we try and distance ourselves for the most part. Or at least everyone I have ever met does.

But they are overrun with people from New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

Those are the retired ones. But they do make up the bulk of the population.

Fixed that for you.

This is a geographical dichotomy; the further north in Florida you go, the more Southern/redneck it gets. Northern Florida and southern Georgia are, unfortunately, indistinguishable. The portion that is full of Northeastern ex-pats (also known as God's Waiting Room), typically encompasses central and southern Florida.

A story like this, I see a bunch of Nascar memorabilia involved in my mental picture; unfortunately, TSG doesn't list the city/county of the case, so I cannot confirm.

No, that's the right thing to do.

They have the incident report, and it says Marion County on it.

^Thanks for that. North central Florida, I think I can say that my NASCAR nightmare came true.
