MORROW, Ga. (Dec. 3) -- A man in an elf suit is jailed after police in Georgia say he told a mall Santa that he was carrying dynamite.

Police say Southlake Mall in suburban Atlanta was evacuated but no explosives were found.

Morrow police arrested 45-year-old William C. Caldwell III, who was being held without bond Thursday in the Clayton County jail. He was not part of the mall's Christmas staff.

Police say Caldwell got in line Wednesday evening to have his picture taken with Santa Claus. Police say when Caldwell reached the front of the line, he told Santa he had dynamite in his bag. Santa called mall security and Caldwell was arrested.

Caldwell faces several charges, including having hoax devices and making terroristic threats.

Today its this..tomorrow it could be the real thing.:( Its screwed up,scary, and disgraceful to think that some people would do anything to take advantage of our holidays.

Wait, what? How is this "taking advantage" of a holiday? The guy went up to someone and said he had dynamite. It just happened to be a Santa and he happened to be dressed like an elf.

And your "this takes the cake" list must be enormous, since you seem to find everything objectionable or have some world-shattering consequence. :P

If I were a shopper standing nearby/or a parent, I would've hightailed it the heck out of there the moment I saw a grown costumed man standing in the Santa line.

Come on..think about it for a moment. I still remember that one mall story someone on AN shared where they found that claymore mine in a donation box. If I rember right..it was at a mall.
This is the kind of thing I'm talking about by "taking advantage".Taking people's good and generous things and use it against em.
When it comes to holidays..thats when we drop our guard down the most because were not thinking about it. People want to relax and have a great time. They don't want to think about this. :(

As for my list..lol actually its not that big because when I say it takes the cake..it has to be something thats either really stupid/really alarming, or both.

First off. Thank you for answering that. I notice you talk about military stuff all the time. You even support the troops which is a commendable thing.

2nd I don't drink and i don't smoke. Period. I don't do that garbage.

3rd off I'm sorry if you don't understand my concern from this story. But think about it. Nobody thought someone in our own military in the states would be attacked by one of own men. Look at that result.

Now just picture this at a mall. Espically if they dress up/disguise like an elf or any x-mas figure on X-mas. Do you see it happening? I do.

Thats what makes this story even more disgusting is the fact this guy dressed up like an elf and even though the bomb threat was a fake..people didn't know that at the time. It caused panic.

Its like a chess game. One move and one piece at a time until you get check mate. I don't like having to talk about this stuff but the topic was brought up and I'm just puting my say on the topic.

Seriously can we both at least agree what this guy did was insane and wrong?

Walt you have absolutely no sense of humor. You take everything as completely serious business. Lighten up.
